Are there any concerned parents out there regarding the little league football/cheer coaches?

OMG where to start it has been the worst season yet. A few bad apples ruin the whole bunch. A have a football player and a cheerleader. Head coach of pee wees is clueless and has his picks which is typical and the cheer rep is a freakin joke. Head Coach is a self centered know it all who from what I hear doesn't even allow his assistant coaches to have opinions. Don't know who he thinks he is but I am certain he will not coach again especially my child. Its a shame the president won't address it. I guess its a good thing they are friends. Last year my kids will participate in the little league program in Dunlap and that makes me sad.

Asst. coaches have very little input with the team. Everything has to go thru head coach and he has to be in complete charge with no open mind. Lot of good asst. coaches with much ability twiddiling thumbs during practice with a group of boys that have much potential. Pres. should have done something before now. Don't think they are the best of friends, Pres. just don't want to change things now. Think he knows what the problem is but doesn't want to address it. Thinks it will just go away. It will, the last play of the last game of the season.

i have the same concerns but thought i was the only one i think the assistant coaches are fantastic also but the head coach is ridiculous. hey coach realize you have assistants for a reason use them! also realize you are coaching this year dont punish a kid this year that will not be on your team for kids that will be on your team next year. a year is a long way away especially if you continue to make so many parents angry.

A few years ago I was heavily involved, and these kind of problems happen. I have heard there is a lot of trouble with the pee-wees this year, mainly because the coach is more concerned with winning, than letting the kids have fun. Its not ok that some kids are only playing for 2 minutes. You have to go to the league president...and he HAS to address it. I am telling you, I have been on the board, and if enough parents have an issue, the president will go to the practice, observe, listen to the parents, and try to find a solution.

As for the cheer rep, "I told you so". Was she even voted in, I thought she replaced the one who up and quit. It will be ok, you all have the power to put people on your board...they are afterall who picks the coaches.

I totally agree that the main problem is the head coach and to my understanding there have been several attempts made to the president regarding the coach. To my understanding some of the assistant coaches have expressed their concerns and it was pretty much told to them that he was the head coach and what he says goes. I have always had respect for anyone who takes the time to VOLUNTEER their time to coach or be on the board but I can't beleive this is allowed to go on. I agree winning is important and it is hard to get all 30 kids on the field during a game but if other assistants on the team thinks there is a problem as well then obviously there is a major problem that needs to be addressed.

THERE ARE SEVERAL GOOD ATHLETES ON THE PEE WEES TEAM THIS YEAR BUT THERE ARE SOME THAT ARE GET SPECIAL TREATMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE COACHES SON,NEPHEW OR FROM THE MTN AND THEN THERE ARE SOME KIDS THAT ARE BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY BECAUSE THE HEAD COACH DOESNT LIKE THE PARENTS. THAT IS WRONG. THERE IS ONE KID IN PARTICULAR THAT IS AN ALL AROUND GOOD ATHLETE, SMART AND HAS RESPECT FOR THE GAME AND COACHES, KNOWS EVERY PLAY AND ALWAYS WORKS HARD AND THIS PARTICULAR CHILD WAS TOLD BY THE HEAD COACH THAT HE DOESNT HAVE THE SKILLS FOR FOOTBALL AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS UNCALLED FOR. IF I WAS THE PARENT I WOULD PULL HIM OFF THE TEAM AND KICK THE COACHES A@@ BUT SHE KNOWS HOW MUCH HER SON LOVES TO PLAY. IT IS A DISGRACE THAT THIS IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. MY HAT GOES OUT TO THE PARENT (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND CONTROL. ONE DAY THIS COACH WILL SEE THE ATHLETES THAT HE THINKS ARENT GOOD ENOUGH FOR "HIS" TEAM.

I know which child in particular you are speaking of. Such a sweetie and a dynomite athlete just ask any of his other coaches. Not sure why he is being treated wrong. Its funny he is playing several diiferent places and seems to do good at all of them so why does he only get to play occasionally? hmmmmm?

I didn't realize there were this many unhappy parents on the pee wees maybe the Pres should address these issues in person at practice. If the President doesn't seem to care maybe you should go down the chain of command. This needs to be an eye opener to all parents to express the opinions during meetings and elections. I personally think the coach has the best intentions but apparently has lost focus of the job at hand.

I agree with whats being said about the pee wee coach. It is easy to see he don't know much about the game. There are plenty of qualified coaches in this town but none want to help because of some of the parents. It don't matter what kind of coach you are some parents will cause a problem don't matter how good a coach they are. Them are the same parents that talk to their kid like trash and try to get the kid to be more a athlete then they were in school. The coach is a problem. But we got parents that make problems for the coaches. They run there mouth and sound like fools. So you get what you get. I heard the pee wee coach was begged to coach this year. Some of them same parents were wanting him in and now there doing what they always do. complain. You get what you get.

so true...you can't please everyone. And it is hard to find people who will dedicate so much time and effort for free...and believe me, coaching and being on the board is a lot of work. The coach is a human, and is just making a mistake that needs corrected. It makes sense to be frustrated when you see kids being treated unfairly. It is a real problem though, because I am not even involved this year, and heard about it before it was even on here. The coach needs talked to, and I think there is even a rule about playing time..at least there was.

If you have so many kids playing pee wees, why don't they have two teams instead of one. 30 players are lot of kids, and when you only play 32mins total, how can everyone have player time. Sequatchie County has grew 22% in the past 10 years, and from my understanding from watching the news Sequatchie County was the fastest growing county in the state.

I honestly think if you have more than one parent that feels that their is an issue with the Pee Wee coach that you should call a parent meeting with Bruce & this coach & assistants !! Bruce will listen to your concerns & so will many of the board members !!If i am not mistaken that team has atleast 2 kids thats parents are on the board !!
