I am DHS Class of 1988. Apparently my memory is fading and I can no longer remember some of my old teachers' names. Can anyone help?

Social Studies 11: I had this guy in 1986-87 during my junior year at DHS. He was a young, new teacher I believe, and very interested in politics and running for city council I think.

Social Studies 10 Honors: 1985-86 at DHS, during my sophomore year. A somewhat heavy set guy, middle age, who taught European History. Gave us a ton of homework each day. Taught us that the "Do Nothings" Kings basically did nothing.

6th grade Math: 1981-82 at DMS. Some old dude nearing retirement. No one ever really "connected" with the guy since he was so old.

Oh, and in School No. 4, 1978-79, 3rd grade. Her last name was Dunham, and she was somewhat young and single (?). She left School 4 after that year but I'm not sure where she ended up. she sent me a thank you note in June after I stayed after school on multiple days to help organize the science kit.

I graduated in 89. The only guy that I can think of is Mr. Burnett.

Hmmm...strange I can't remember him. I had Bill Walters for Social Studies 9H in 1984-85, who was also the varsity baseball coach at the time, but that's the only name I remember for Social Studies.

Hi again, I remember the name Catalano (Greg?) vaguely, but not Sciarrino. Neither was my Social Studies teacher in the 80's though. Strange thing is I remember both of my S.S. teachers from DMS: Daniel Knaak (6th and 7th grades) and Mr. Coliachivo (sp.?)(8th grade).

Thanks for trying. You have a better memory than I do :)

Was the S.S. 11 teacher in 86-87 Greg Krauza? He went on to be Mayor of Dunkirk a few years later.

S.S. 10 85-86 -- could it have been Tom Phillips?
interested

ding ding ding! we have a winner. Tom Phillips was my SS 10H teacher! My SS 11 teacher might have been Krauza, but now I am not sure if I am confusing him with someone else. I know there was a rookie SS teacher that year (1986-87); the person interested in Dunkirk politics may have been him or someone else now that I think of it. I guess you can tell I wasn't very interested in Social Studies while growing up.

David Nicosia was my AP Calculus teacher. Mrs. Christina was my 8th grade English teacher at DMS, before she came to the high school. Mr. Sliwa was my Course I Mathematics (algebra) teacher in 9th grade, his first year out at DHS, just out of college! Mr. Kolodziej was my French III teacher. I never had the others.

I've been to that yearbook site. Lots of great pics, though the emphasis is on 70's and before, mainly 50's and 60's.

It was Krauza, Mileena. He taught the Regents Social Studies - pretty sure. He ran for Mayor and won.

Social Studies 9H for class of '88 was Walters. Social Studies 10H for our class was Tom Phillips, I believe. 11H was Salisbury. 12H was Walters again. You were in my class! ;-)(But I don't know who you are. Give me a first initial - wasn't a very big class in honors.)
