If you have a cat that you let outside to roam around the city... Just so you know, those little bastards are always pissing on our shit...
WELL... not any longer... if your cat comes into our yard again they will either be shot, or poisoned. We shouldn't have to worry about our belongings in our fenced in back yard because a cat will come and piss on it... Your cats will all die!!
I don't even care if you say its inhumane... Take control of your cats or you won't see them again!! Tired of cats getting into everything, pissing and shitting all over the place... Disgusting... makes this city a shit hole!!!

Ok this is just a venting post. I really will not kill your cats!! I have kids and the cats are always finding their way into our backyard. Just wish there was some way to monitor this type of animal control. They do it for dogs..

The neighbors cats have ruined our back yard.I love cats but someone should be held accountable for their destruction of actions.

Thank you! I am animal lover too! I would never really kill a cat, EVER. The post was me venting because I am beyond exhausted by this. Our yard is fenced in and they still find a way in. Its disgusting! I have a 2 year old, and I worked hard for the things I buy my children. I shouldnt have to guard my backyard like a military zone to keep things pee free.
I am just asking for locals to have a little heart.

I have indoor/outdoor cats. While it is almost impossible to "train" them to not leave their yard, most, if cared for properly at home, only venture to hunt. If you know who owns the "bad kitties" in question, go directly to the owners and let them know what their cat's are up to. I am lucky that I live in a neighborhood that has several homes with cats--that are fixed, well fed, and taken care of--so the visits to other homes are not an issue. Trash night is not even an issue (no ripped bags here). I do understand your frustration and empathize with you. The bad kitty behavior goes back on the owner though--not the cat. There are several "natural" steps you can take to deter them from visiting your yard.(that do not involve hurting them.

I have a indoor cat. I hate when I go to leave for work and I can tell a cat has sprayed my car tire. The smell of their piss is unbelievable. The neighbor has a sand box for her kids to play in and she always has to sift the sand because the cats use it as a litter box. The dog catcher should trap these cats and give out tickets like they do to dog owners. I see no difference in cats and dogs, the law should be the same for both.

Sounds like another reason NOT to move to Dunkirk.

WOW REALLY? I don't usually comment on these things but I just couldn't help myself. Ok, first of all I can honestly understand all the complaints but OUTSIDE is nature, cats actually naturally should be outside. I have had cats all my life and for the most part they are not controllable to any useable extent. Also there are many strays which are more likely to be causing the problems and they need your HELP,(there are programs in many areas if they are funded that pick up strays, check their health and spay or neuter them and return them to pick up site) And have you ever tried to use a leash with a cat? Good Luck. If you spray bleach around your belongings (or patio) that don't NATURALLY BELONG outside it may keep them away. And sandbox should be covered and you should let your neighbor know that children should not play in a contaminated sandbox as there are health risks to that even if feces is removed, they should consult their pediatrician. Also, it is not just cats that like sandboxes, skunks and raccoons have been known to frolic in them too, that is why just about anyone recommends they be covered. Maybe you should take a moment to be thankful there are not rats and mice running around your backyard/community, it's funny how nobody can appreciate that until there's a plague or the rats and mice ARE running around. At any rate the 'dumb' animals should not be held responsible for nature doing natural things on your belongings. But I'm not sure who I would call the 'dumb' animals in this case.

how stupid is your neighbor? they sell covered sand boxes everywhere? duh....and if all you azzzholes didnt keep dumping and NOT spaying/neutereing you cats maybe they would not run loose. you think these cats got here themselves?? then you re pissed because the poor things have the nerve to starve, freeze to death and die on your property. ask some of your redneck freaking neighbors why they keep disposing of unwanted cats....one more thing. who has an Indoor cat but hates other cats? weird Idiot!!!!

Obviously you did not read the second comment I made... Shows that you are paying attention.
First of all, you are from Fredonia... Why don't you keep your rude comments to the Fredonia topics list...
Second, I would never poison a cat...Dumbass!! I was speaking out of frustration. There are a lot of people who let their pets wander.

The cats that wander the neighborhood belong to people... They are not starving or dying on my property. And in case you hadn't noticed, I really don't think there are a lot of rednecks in Dunkirk...
The cats pee all over the toys in the backyard. They pee on chair cushions and have ruined some many toys. I have a covered sandbox because of that. I just don't want cats to continue ruining my kids toys.
People post such rude comments on here. And for what? It only makes the person in response look truly ignorant. My first initial post, yes I sound ignorant. I will be the first to admit this, but I also just came in my house from cleaning up my fenced in back yard and found several of belongings ruined.

Unfortunately, its irresponsible people who get cats, don't bother getting them fixed, then dump them who are the problem. Likely the same people sucking our tax dollars in many other ways too.

Don't blame the cats, blame irresponsible people.

Would you rather have mice or rats? Cats naturally take care of these pests for you. Honestly, I dislike cats, but i would rather have them roaming outside than the alternative.

Dunkirk IS rednecks.
If you're so sure these cats belong to people go talk to the owners. cats pee on things,(99% are males) to mark territory, and let females know they are around. not to get your panties in a bunch. they are letting other males know they have been there, so if this is happening these are un-neutered cats, whose owners dont give a sh--it and also allow them to add to the population of unwanted cats and kittens. I know how many strays are around here and I highly doubt you have this many neighbors with wanted cats. not in Dunkirk.

try citronella oil or lemon/orange and water in a spray bottle around your fence border, cats hate citrus smells. DO NOT use moth balls or cayenne pepper as some idiots will tell you. moth balls are poisonous to other animals and kids, Cayenne pepper will make cats eyes react till they can nearly scratch them out trying to rid themselves of the irritation!!!

Someone actually suggested another natural way of placing egg shells around the area. I have to say, that I have been doing that since I got a recommendation and I haven't had anything ruined. And I see the cats out constantly... The Rednecks don't live near me...lol... Wish some did! Thanks for the advice!
