Citizen goes on rampage kills people, government reacts by restricting citizen rights to guns and tougher laws. Cop in California goes on rampage 1 dead...2 injured..in manhunt, cops shoot up a car and its passengers in a case of mistaken identity..government says nothing about restricting guns to citizens..do you see the uneven balance of power being created?

I read it again. I think you meant govt says nothing about restricting gun access to police?
There are too many (not a lot but too many) times when police use their power irresponsibly. Very little is ever done when they do.
Instead they get more funding, more power, more credibility by courts while more innocent people are permanently damaged by their actions.
Its naive to think accidents will never happen but I don't feel like there is enough accountability for police who misuse their powers. Holding police accountable for the misuse of their powers is no different than holding citizens accountable for the misuse of their rights.

Law enforcement is just the newest member of the NRA's enemies list.

Well hopefully the NRA will actually be effective for once.
Law enforcement has become a complicit participant in the destruction of our country turning our poor neighborhoods into areas of opportunity for wealthy interests by prosecuting and knowingly denying the civil rights of their inhabitants. Such participants in a these programs are not unlike the secret police of Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia. How many concentration camp guards were just "following orders?". Use your damn conscience, and if you don't have one, you don't belong in that position, YOU belong in prison.

have you ever heard of the fast and furious program in mexico? The US Govt gave guns to known criminals to be tracked to find out who the killers are. Why is our govt giving guns to criminals in Mexico but preventing US citizens from obtaining guns
