I,m a democract and union member. But i was thinking of not voting for dick frey this year. I was thinking AJ DOLCE. But then i read the newspaper about him telling cott he supports a union effort there. That's really none of aj's concern. At seems more like a desperate effort to get votes. So once again i,m going with dick frey.

I will be voting for Frey. At least we know the devil we got - don't know what you'd be getting. Not a whole lot of choices here....kinda like it was when we voted for the last President. I would like to see Dick be more open with what is going on. He tends to be a bit secretive and I am not the only one who feels this way. Dolce is a fence jumper and Barnes is cuckoo! The gal running for council woman at large is very nice, but boy does she have a lot to learn about politics in Dunkirk. I don't think she'd get much cooperation.
Should be interesting.

a bit secrative? frey more open? how about memorial park? remember - a $175000 secret expense covered up by the county executive edwards. no public disclosure! parties at demitri,s lunches at the clarion - tried to dupe the council into giving away the waterfront property to the clarion for free or $1. he's too slipery for me. we can't afford another 4 years of frey and his hidden agenda! speaking of demitri's how bout that beautiful dumpster enclosure - who owns the property that it sits on. did anyone approve it?? come on - free lunch or political fundraisers anybody???

Barnes is a friend of mine that went and became a doctor. He has been in Dunkirk the whole time. He was gone during the school year but home on vacation and summers. I am proud to have David as a friend. He researches and writes everything out. I am glad he is running. I am glad he works as hard as he does. You think he is crazy because you dont read hes stuff

How many terms are mayors allowed?

As many as the voters allow them. Joe Steger was elected 5 times for a toal of 10 years. This was from 1960 thru 1969. The only other Mayor in recent times to serve 10 Years is Dick Frey. This was done with only being elected 3 times because of the 4 year term that was voted on by the public. From 1960 to the present there has been 6 ,1 term Mayors, 2, 2 term Mayors, and 2, 3 term Mayors. I hope this answers you question.

Waiting to see if Frey can last to 100, then Dunkirk can claim the oldest Mayor in Dunkirk. Only 20 more years to go!
