I will never step foot into JJ's again. I was going to purchase a pistol there and he was so rude to me and laughed it off with the "good ol' boys" sitting in the chairs behind me that i walked out and will never buy anything from them. I have been using and handling firearms since I was old enough to hold one. I don't need some condescending arrogant jerk treating me like that. He lost my sale.

I agree about those "good ol' boys" sitting in the chairs. If your not there to shop then get out or go sit in the back somewhere.

Every time I go there, I get good service and positive customer service. I've never seen them be rude to anybody. I don't hang around, except to "shop" look at goods to see if I want to purchase them. You were shopping for a handgun. NYS Law-the procedure is they first have to ask you for your pistol permit BEFORE they can even show you a gun or have you touch one. Did they ask you for your pistol permit? If you don't have one, you can't "shop". What a screwed up law. My cousin came down to Virginia when I lived there and we went to a gun show. He was amazed to know I could walk up to any vendor, purchase a handgun over the counter with only a criminal background check, pay cash, and walk away with the gun-all in 10 min. or less. You just have to be "clean"- pass a police background check. No pistol permit required, no serial numbers recorded. If you are going to conceal a pistol in Virginia, then you need a carry permit. That requires a coarse and fees for the permit. I had a conceal permit in Virginia 10 years prior to coming back to NY. NYS doesn't "recognize it". Even though I had to go through a class, certify, and pay fees. In NY I have to go through the same class and pay fees.

I've seen done of JJ's work and been very unimpressed. He installed a scope for a friend and scratched up the reciever. The worst I've seen was a few years back, when a buddy of mine took in a very expensive shotgun to be repaired. Jeff kept it forever then after more than six months tells him he can't fix it or get parts and gives it back with pitting and corrosion. Everytime I go in there it is like they are doing you a favor by selling you something. Needless to say I was really glad when Old Sarges opened up. Much better selection at much better prices. Sometimes I wonder how Rick's making money right now he has tokerov's below what the dealer cost is on the web. I'm still sad Denny in Brocton closed up his gunsmithing was amazingly hish quality for what he charged. Anyone know of a decent gunsmith in the area???

I agree, JJ Guns sucks, the people running it are rude, and their prices are ridiculous, especially their ammo. On top of it, you have to listen to the Mrs. political remarks, most of them fairly idiotic. She's WAY more obnoxious than he is. Word to the wise, if you're a business person, stay off the topics of religion or politics. Also, they are total rip-offs with some of the things they push, like the Florida Non-resident carry permits. They rake a ton off the top, and don't tell veterans that their DD214 will save them the money for the class. Yeah, real nice and patriotic people. Anyway, Sarge's will beat the price of any guns and ammo JJ's sells and by a fair amount.
