I agree with some of what you say, but not all.
I agree that the Federal government is broken. I never used to believe in term limits. I always thought they were a cop out by an uninformed and uninvolved electorate, but I'm starting to change my mind. Parlimentary rules have to be changed to eliminate tacking on pork to every bill on every subject, and to no longer allow the party out of power to make obstruction its only purpose.
It's going to take more than one good man to change the grid lock.
There is a desperate need for change at the top of both parties. Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Reid, et. al., are every bit as much a part of the probem as Obama. The Republican party has been hijacked by idealogues, zealots and just plain crazy people. THose few remaining reasonable folks are too scared or too busy looking over their right shoulder to make sure they won't get "primaryed" to accompish anything.
I keep waiting for a real third party to emerge. A centrist party that reflects what I believe are the views of the majority of Americans -- fiscal responsibility and moderate views on most social issues.
And even though you didn't ask, my view on Obama's Presidency is this: If health care reform, in the long run, is effective in reducing health care costs and stemming the impending crises in that area, his Presidency will be viewed as a success (in historical terms). If not, it will be viewed as ineffectual because health care reform is really the only thing he has implemented. If he is judged a failure it won't be because he is the demon that most on here what to portray, but because he has been ineffective in getting anything done. Congress shares the blame, but other Presidents have had to, and have found a way to, work with the opposition. Obama has failed miserably in crafting any kind of consensus to achieve much of anything. Appointing and then ignoring Simpson-Bowles was, in my opinion, indefensible.

typical politician material....the ability to tell two stories is a dead give away.
i figure anyone that tries to compare obama vs. bush to prove a point is only trying to compare two peas that just come from different pods.serves no purpose except excite the uniformed and thats why we are where we are now.

aint that the way the big battles are won?
divide and conquor....and its working.

And those who compare everyone to Reagan?

are full of bs.also.

the biggest thing i liked about reagan was the movie where he played that cowboy who was romancing that hot cowgirl.
although reagan did alot more than most have for this country i never thought he was the perfecto prez they all claimed him to be.
no man walks on water.....no matter what the editors of some of these news sites claim.

I DO feel sorry for you since the word truth seems somehow to be missing from your vocabulary. You lied about Bush intentionally misleading the American people, you lied about the fact that there were no WMD's. You refuse to admit Obama is covering up three different scandals that he claims he knows nothing about. I DO feel bad for you and countless others that were lead down the primrose path of "change you can believe in"! Higher taxes, stagnant job growth, high unemployment, and a health care plan that none understand.

....With the American people giving Reagan a 1984 Presidential Electoral vote landslide of 525 vs. 13 for Mondale what other comparable standard bearer are you looking for?

If the issue is margin of victory in a Presidential election, I agree the 1984 election is a standard for comparison. I don't believe that was the point of the discussion, however.

The point of discussion was/is the current President and you keep trying to deflect any discussion which shows him in a bad light.
