You can't be too sure anymore. It all depends on what kind of tax incentive they have to stay and what the cost off uprooting and doing business elsewhere would be.

I fear for the area. What are people going to do? We have potentially 375 families that are no out of work. Where will they go? Are there other similar jobs available? Do they have the resources to move? Do they want to move?

They can thank their WNY leadership for not keeping these businesses in WNY, and thank NYS for creating an environment that is not conducive to business. We are among the highest taxed states in the nation when you look at property, sales, and income tax, whether on the individual or a business. And why? To continue supporting the leeches of society so they can go into WalMart with their EBT card and buy microwave meals for their families? Gimme a break.

IS That all you do whine ! I will solve your problem for you right here on good ole Dunkirk topix, MOVE ! You live in the poorest area were 75% of the population is flat azz broke from poor paying jobs to plain unemployment and your outraged that someone is using a ebt card. Move ! If you are so high and mighty go to Southern California and live bump elbows with the stars and you'll never see those ebt cards again , get out of the poorest area and maybe you won't have to look at poor people. Now if you moved to a nice rich neighborhood I guess you would become the ones they would look down on. so for now enjoy being a "big" fish in the small pond of DUNKIRK. todays lesson has ended.

You're just flat out an idiot. The only reason you dislike my post is because I dared to question the leadership of the Democrat Party.

This area is awesome, I wouldn't move unless I absolutely had to. The leadership and the mentality have prevented WNY from succeeding. It's an absolute shame. And no, I'm not well off, but I don't qualify to have my weekly grocery bill paid for by the taxpayers either.

And you know what.. if you're really from High Point, NC just get the F U C K out of the conversation. You worthless, money sucking, leech liberal waste of space.

again 1 good question leads to shit talk. The question is will Purina decide to leave. We should all start to make some noise about our community being torn apart 1 plant at a time. Next NRG then what some of the smaller plants. Each time one leaves others also lose their jobs, Rest owners, truck drivers, etc. Wake up people things are going down hill quickly for Chaut County. this is not a Dunkirk vs Fredonia problem this is a Chaut and WNY problem.

Easy solution President Obama. Post something down there on the High Point topix site and tell us what it is. That way we can check and see for ourselves. Fair enough? That should resolve the issue right? Just use the same post name as you do now and that way no damage is done to your name right?

The problem is NYS and to a degree, the county and city. Business taxs just to high here. Corporations are cold and indifferant to peoples needs. That is how corps stay alive and survive. Don't think c starr and red wing (I know, not their names) are here to stay. The more business' leave, the higher the taxes for the remainder.

You are right though, the majority of folks who had any amount of intelligence found a way out. The only people left are the folks that don't care or are unable to get out. We are now left with a dumb, uneducated, drunk and lazy population. These are the people who run our communities. If you had the choice, would this be the community that you would want to select employees from?
