Congrats welfare recipints as u have recieved more benefits this year and r making more than I am sitting at home on ur lazy asses. You people disgust me and it will only get worse w/ the moronic Pres. we have in office. Why do u think he keeps getting re-elected?........whoever thinks these people r only getting 700$/month for a family of 4 is nuts!!!!! I work w/ these people and their monthly checks per individual r more than i take home in a month. Plus they get all their food, heat, etc paid for!!!
They buy votes by giving the lazy free stuff. Thats how the dems win.

Correction:

"Soon there will be no one left to pay the rats. It affects us all. Sometimes I think it's a plan from ("by" or "of" would've been more grammatically correct) the democrats to keep the people down. There is,(or they have) no reason to advance themselves, or (to) better themselves.

Until the welfare system is reformed, the recipients will continue to feel entitled to a free ride. Government has to make it more attractive to get off welfare than it is to stay on it. Require all recipients to participate in activities that will make the marketable. Some ideas: GED for those that are drop-outs; mandatory random drug tests (people that are employed undergo drug tests, why not welfare ecipients?); mandatory community service to gain employment skills; ESL classes for those that can't speak English thereby eliminating a barrier to employment; no increase in benefits when you spit out more kids after getting on the welfare rolls; make sure your kids make it to school every day or be penalized one day's benefits for every day of school missed; revamp food stamps so that junk foods are eliminated. Just a few deas that I'm sure will be criticized by left wing liberal do-gooders. We as taxpayers need to demand more accountability for what our taxes are being spent on.

Drug testing is too cost prohibitive from what. I have read. ( all for it though). No English no pesos. No work no breeding for dollars. Limit it to one year for the truly needy, if there is no work that suits your skills, move. Forget ESL, learn and become proficient in English. Don't like it leave.

I can understand people hit hard times and need a little help. BUT there is a little help and there is a point when enough is enough.. Im a single mom working 2 jobs and i dont get to buy crab legs, lobster and top of the line steak because it isnt a necessity to eat that, yet it can be bought with food stamps. Why??? Also I pay a cell phone bill monthly and work to do so,,yet others have that handed to them.I dont understand how a cell phone is a mandatory part of life. Its not like you need that phone if your car breaks down on the way to work. I can agree with a helping hand, but i cant agree with people being handed things that others work 40 hrs a week to have

Does it ever occur to some people that this is a place for people to express their opinions and feelings and not a place to be judged for their grammar, spelling, etc.? Just maybe some of these people do not have a "complete" education. You don't need to make snide remarks. If you are smart enough or lucky enough to have an education, act like you do. Don't be so arrogant! There must be something in the water in this part of the state - a lot of pompous egotistical people. Must be the malt in the beer.

Growing up I myself have heard my mom in the kitchen, after work telling my brothers and I stories about her friends that were on welfare and how much they were telling her that if she got on welfare too like them, she would never have to work anymore.

I remember like a year ago, my brother used to be friends with this boy that attended the same summer program as him, and the boys mom was on welfare. Not only that, but besides her actual son, she was a foster mom to probably like 7 other kids: All of which she was getting paid by the government to raise. My brother would tell me how like on his birthday at school, the boys mom had a limo come pick him up and how he always has nice expensive clothes and cool kicks, but whenever he'd go to his house: Inside and out looked like a pig sty. Like it looked like an abandonned place for crack heads, yet he had all this nice stuff.

When my brother would still bring him over our house, his mom got cool with our mom after a while too seeing as her son had a cool friendship with my brother. And she told my mom that she too should consider fostering children and being on welfare because my mom works 'too hard' and she could get much more of the things that she wanted.....

But look at your house....! Where you live.

You only make money to afford all the expensive things that you couldn't with a hard earned job because she didn't have the credentials to get a good job so she resorted to government assisstance. And.... You think you ballin?

My point to all this: No one that is on welfare is makin' bank. They are merely just getting by and it's really sad because some people in even worse urban communities livin' in what we like to call it section 8 houses or the projects: Actually think that that little bit of money from the government is a come up. So they tell other people to be just as lazy as them and depend on the GOVERNMENT. Which is why African-American (me being one) are so set back because we want an easy life sometimes without doing anything to compensate for that. That's not ok. And being on welfare ain't cute. Idc what you do with the money: It ain't cute.

If they want welfare they should be told show up 1st thing in the morning to be put on a work crew or get put down like a sick dog right there and then. When the first one tries to walk away saying "no, no me worky" shove the needle in his arm and let the rest of the line see him slump over. Everybody else will go to work that day for their check, and either work for it again the next day or never show up asking for welfare.

We already have these requirements for people on welfare. The problem is that its so difficult to enforce. People fight it and ask for "fair hearings" where they get a liberal judge who lets them off the hook. Its endlessly frustrating.

What we need to do is give people on welfare JOBS and pay them by the hour for every hour they work-no work, no check. Its that simple-People would have far more incentive to just work instead of fighting the requirement to do "community service".

This will never happen in the democratic controlled NY. The Dems buy elections with those that dont work, by giving them more!
