If you Perry work at the paper, you should do some investigative work. Or if anyone reading this works at the paper they should do this. Call Dick and ask him outright. Check the records from the city to see what the hotel owes the city. Talk to hotel management and ask they if they think its a conflict of interest. Ask the hotel outright if they gave free meals or other gifts to the ex-mayor. Speak with hotel employees who have left or quit the hotel to see if they know anything. Talk to present hotel workers. There is alot of questions that could be asked in 30 minutes of a reporter's day. And if nothing is dug up you print the story of a ex-mayor age 80 something getting a job at a business who owes the city hundreds of thousand of dollars and the headline should read something to the effect of "conflict of interest?" and let the taxpayers make the decision. The fact is all city taxpayers should know what contlict of interest jobs ex-city employees get!

When can we expect to see the copy here? Why do I belong in prison as well, have a story on that as well? No problem we'll print it. I might even hire you as an investigative reporter since you seem or claim to have the facts.

People go into politics for any number of reasons whether it be money, repect, or future benefits. It doesn't matter what office it is i.e. federal, state or local. Does anyone really think the politicians currently at city hall are there to just do good things? It is possible to both do the right thing for the people you represent as well as set up a job situation for after you are out of office. Politicians are not supposed to serve for a career, that's why it is called public service. You do what youy can while in office and then move on whgich is difficult to do if there is nothing to move on to. Until something illegal is proven there is no harm in offering a friend a job.

Never heard of anonymous sources before? Is this TIMMMMMMAY again? Or is it Kory the Clown?

On the other hand, if this guy is really a reporter for the observer, you can understand why they do such a bad job. Get off your ass and do some investigation rather than making someone else do all the hard work. Lazy mofo.

Read the audit, the state has already declared that the previous administration gave money illegally. Where have you been?

Clue-in order to investigate, I need the names of the people who saw the envelopes being passed. Without them it is rumor and we as I said do not print rumors. Do you have some names for us or not? If not take your accusations to the tabloid people, the newsstands are full of that BS.

Most big stories in newspaper are founded on accusations first. Then either the newspaper or a public person has to do the fact checking. I don't understand Perry's point(s).

The fact is the hotel owes the city alot of money.

Now combine that with the fact that the ex-mayor who is in his 80's gets a job at the same hotel that during the ex-mayor's tenure was responsible for those hundreds of thousands of dollars the hotel now owes the city.

Forget about all this other crap like free dinners and cash envelopes for the time being.

Lets focus on the fact a 80 plus year old ex-mayor gets a management job at a hotel that owes the City hundreds of thousands of dollars. DOES THAT PASS THE SMELL TEST?

That alone pointS to the issue of A conflict of interest or a possible bribe.

That alone should make the "worst of the week" section, and a follow-up of questions asked of the ex-mayor, the current mayor, the hotel owners and others.

Well "Danny Boy" you can be the public person and gain some fame and be the next Bob Woodard, get crackin Danny,we'll print it but again, you do have to use your real name. As Larry the cable guy says,"get er done". I will say that your theory of conflict of interest and a possible bribe fly's in the face of common sense.

This question has what to do with your accusations? Either you have some facts which we will print or you don't Danny. Going off on a tangent sounds like you are backing down? If you have proof of bribery we will print it period. Conflict of interest is out of the question,Mr Frey is no longer the Mayor.

Its a point of interest that all residents of the city should be aware of. A hotel that owes hundreds of thousands to the city and the hiring of a ex-mayor who authorized the money. Like it or not those appear to be the facts.

"Appear" to be the facts doesn't cut it. Present the facts if you would. I suspect you have nothing other than rumors. Facts I will print,so far its been nothing but rumors.

The observer motto: "why ruin a good story with the truth". Quite frankly, the observer's not worth buying to line the litter box. Not to mention why buy the paper when the idots put it online for nothing. Pure genius there folks!!

By Perry keeping this story growing it is being talked about all over town. Better here then in the Observer anyway.
