Amen! I sat with my children eating ice cream on the boardwalk while listening to filthy "f" this talk in front of the ice cream shop. All of them drinking and smoking like crazy. The language and the obvious public intoxication bothered me the most. Took my kids and went to Big Dipper!
Good move! I dislike the behavior on the pier too! To much drinking, rude language and women who dress like ladies of the night. Not a pretty sight down there. Then again, it's kind of par for the area. People need to find a better way to have fun. Kind of sad when you have to get loaded to have a good time.

GO to church and hang out then. SORRY but eating ice cream isn't going to support the pier on thursdays. So have ice cream a different night. I have to laugh "dress like ladies" are you kidding me. It is DUNKIRK where have you been for the last 20 yrs!! The pier started off good the first year, but like everything else in dunkirk the trash moves in. GIVE it a couple more years the whole area will be like DETROIT!!!! WATCH AND SEE!!!

Only in Western New York! I have many family and friends who live out of the area and the state and they are just amazed at how much drinking is at the center of functioning here! Those of us that are not in favor of the open drinking on the pier are not prudes or church holy-rollers, we are good people that want to enjoy our community SOBER without having to deal with those of you who only believe that nothing is fun unless drinking is at the forefront! It is only a matter of time before someone sober is gravely injured or killed by someone who just couldn't have a fun time without that drink in their hands. Many I know now stay away too.

I went to the music at the pier 3 times this past summer. I had 2-3 beers each time (wasn't driving) and I really didn't see anyone "loaded".

It's just like the gun thing,a couple of nuts and suddenly everyone that has a drink is rowdy and obnoxious.

Go ahead and stop the drinking and the smoking. Then watch and see what happens. It will be the end of it for sure. It's just like golf 18 holes 18 beers.Like it or not it's the truth,if you took drinking out golf half of the people wouldn't golf. Same concept with the pier!!!

No smoking areas such as the campus of ub are policy only. Police can not enforce policy, only the law.

Smokers, fat people in little clothes and whiny brats should all stay home and listen from their own yards !!!!! That goes for the stupid people that bring them that have no brains !!
