by the time you figure it all out you pay just as much out as you get coming in - in the long run.
Many people believe it is a way to help pay bills only to put it all back in to do repairs. Now a days it just isn't worth it

It's so sad that many people on public assistance make this a reality ... I was a nurse I worked very hard my husband who worked hard all his life nearly died from heart problems. At the time he was working n going to school to become n master. electrician ...I know that takes ten years ... the point is he nor I was the type to slack nor have our hand out. We have four children who we took care of for many years without help. Now we need it we lost our home sold our car to feed my family. Until there was no money left. I try not to apply for public assistance. My husband is dying he is 39 years old. I am 36.. my oldest is 16 years old. I just wanna say thank you tax payers from my heart for helping my family. I get 315 in cash to take care of my family of 6...and 752 in food stamps. n I make blankets n do hair to make ends meet. I'd love to work but no one will hire me. I even out of desperation applied for a job at Walmart ... They wouldn't hire me because I was over qualified. Same thing with LBJ's n MC Donald's ... I had to quit my job to care for my husband. I say this with pain in my heart n tears in... every one on public assistance isn't loving it. And if more people on public assistance would just act like they have common sense people wouldn't mind helping those in need. But there are many people with class n what dignity we can hold on too

I am ready to help, please go to the church or charity of your choice and leave your name and address with the pastor, priest,or administrator so that only he or she knows your identity and how to get in touch with you. Post the name of that church or charity on here and I will render monetary assistance right away.

The post was on Thursday, today is Saturday. You seem to be a expert on things so should I forego my vacation or?? If you are so concerned about people up here why are you living where you do and not up here? Real simple question, can we have an equally simple answer?

What fields do you claim expertise in besides claiming to be the President. The person that was shedding all those tears was a phony and you if you are all that educated and an expert in anything should realize that.

If they knew as you say,all that needed to be done was to post the name of the Church or charitable organization and see if the help materialized correct? You might claim to be an expert but common sense is for sure not your strong point. I agree with the poster on a different subject who referred to you as "dumb as a rock". You really need to stay out of our business up here,we have enough idiots around these parts.

I so agree My ex is robbing the government welfare system.he works 2 jobs files for welfare and cash ben. had me kicked of masshealth so he could get it for free.and I have cancer!!!he does not even live with his children,or our youngest, that he filed for she does not see a f'n penny nor any food.he spends it on his current/katest girlfriend and not his kids.lied to the courts and tried to get me to pay him support.the welfare system is totally blind to people that cheat them!!!!

I don't understand how a working person gets screwed on their income taxes but a person on welfare makes out like a bandit.Us working people go to work everyday and lose taxes every week so people on welfare can stay home and collect a check. Then when we file taxes, we lose alot of money because we work and make a living. But people on welfare keep their lazy asses home and file a return so they can use their kids as earned income credits and get thousands of dollars back.I can see welfare if someone needs it to help out in a time of need,,but these lifers are just sucking us working people dry.So Remember "work hard because people on welfare are depending on you"
Are you sure about this? Earned income is for working people. People who collect unemployment can not file for the earned income credit. Welfare is not earned income. Now they may have a guy living with them and letting him claim the kids. Other then that I don't see how they can get the earned income credit.

You seem like a nice person. There is help out there for her especially in this city. If her husband is dying there is hospice etc...Sounds like a scam. 6 kids, I'm sure she's been on welfare for years.

People on welfare do not get earned income credit.... the name of the tax break says it all... "earned income" . One must earn and income to receive the earned income tax credit..... so if a person that has welfare as the only income does not get that credit. If they earned an income of $3000 or more, they get the credit.... and remember, welfare has many programs..... some folks might only get food stamps or only medical. Not all people receiving services receive money/ housing/ food stamps/ medical/ heat etc.
