Don't mock them too much. There very well could come a day when we as a society get crippled by a technological catastrophe. Guess who will have the last laugh then (hint: not the "English").

yeah i'll take my chances with that technological disaster ever happening. i'd say if anything that drastic ever happened we wouldn't be relying on the ammish to teach us how to survive and we'd have bigger problems than figuring out how to churn butter with no electric.

Amish t-bone someone who pulls a U-turn in front of them...so now you bash them and their beliefs on an anonymous forum? You should be ashamed of yourselves. The Amish built my pole barn, and are the best workers I have ever hired. They are hard workers, and steadfast in their convictions. Does that make them bad people, because they are different from you and your beliefs (if you have any).

The Amish don't like machines until they need them to get their sorry butts around long distances. Don't give me crap about them being so pure. They are a cult that have beliefs that make little sense and pick and choose for convenience sake.
Jeez...you sure are a cynical asso!

Nice to see everyone has been making comments related to this accident. I'm glad to see my fellow hoosiers making bigoted comments about things that don't understand. Way to go!

I am grateful for people who will risk injury or death to save another person, whether this is an emergency worker or bystander.

Glad there weren't more injuries and that they saved this man's life. God bless them all.

What the hell did the Amish have to do with this? They were passengers in the vehicle that had the "right of way". The man who died pulled out in front of the driver of the vehicle they were in. This si not an Amish issue it was a car accident that happened to have Amish as passengers.

The Amish are not allowed to own motorized vehicles or base their survival on the modern technologies of an advanced nation. As we all are well aware times are hard and these people need to work and get to work, this is their way around walking to or staying at a job site until the job is done! They did not compromise their religion or beliefs by riding in a vehicle their emnployer/supervisor was driving and probably owned. Get real!

Mr. Disinger, may you rest in peace and may God be with your loved ones during this tragic time in their lives!

The Amish are very hard workers and very good at building houses and barns. They are legal citizens of the United States and they sure can cook and bake. Oh yea Shoefly Pie what a treat.
