why does some members of the scott county life saving crew act like they don't want to take a patient to bristol regional when they are requested to do so? i know if it is an emergency they are supposed to go to the nearest hospital but when its non emergency they should take the patient to bristol especially if the request it and their doctor is in bristol. can someone with the crew answer this question?

If it's not an emergency call a cab they'll take you any where you want to go. The word lifesaving crew means exactly what it says. Not public transportation crew. Not a member but here's you an answer.

they didn't want to take my mom to brmc last summer. and NO it was not an emergency per se but she was bedfast and COULD NOT GET A CAB OR GET INTO A PERSONAL VEHICLE FOR GODS SAKES. YEP THAT IS THE NORM COMING FROM "GIVE IT UP". WHAT ABOUT THE PATIENTS YOU PUT THE BILL ON THEIR MEDICARE? SHOULDN'T MATTER WHERE YOU TAKE THEM, SOME PEOPLE DO PAY YOU IF THEY CAN'T MEDICARE WILL. then you have the poor folks that can't pay but i bet you make it up on the backs of the other paying runs. that is exactly what i know about scott county life saving crew. blood and guts they all come outta that bed at night, but a run of the mill you couldn't prizem out. i know from first hand experience. there are a few good people on the crew and they do act profesionally.

Bluejay... my post said that I was not a member of the crew and I agree that they are some very fine folks in the crew. They are other agencies that there primary area is non emergency transports for those that require those types of services. Bristol is a long way out of there area and they are a primary emergency service. How would you feel if the ambulance is in Bristol and your mother has a heart attack while the ambulance is tired up in Bristol on a non emergency transport. Then you would be on here wanting to know why they was in Bristol on a non emergency when you needed them for your emergency. I guess its a no win either way. Your first post had no mention of your moms special needs but they is other options. And I have no ideal how or what they bill for as I said I am NOT A MEMBER. And if it makes you feel good to call me a redneck or what ever ware it out but a person that would cut ppl that do there best to help isn't much better.

okay heres some information for you... SCLSC can take a patient to an appointment if it is pre arranged before hand and it is approved through you insuranse company.. like i said it has to be pre arranged you cannot just call and say hey i need a ride... think befor you post something or here you go pick up a phone when you know in advance when an appointment is and ask what needs to be done to make arrangments its not that hard to figure it out and "give it up" is right if one cannot assist you there are other comnpanies that do nothing but doctor appointments and if you have va medicaid there is a company that will arrange transport for your mother... any other questions??

for the person in dungannon, my mother was bleeding but not a dire emergency but one with some urgency! it was NOT prearranged. the reason one gave that day when our mother needed transport was that she hated bristol because of the way they treated her mother, and gave that "oh god look". my mother was fully insured and not on medicaid. no, you don't know it all either. when we knew in advance we DID pick up the phone and called for an ambulance service. so lets drop it. and by the way i don't need your info, i know the protocol.

the simple fact is if you call for an ambulance as you did it is treated as emergancy traffic so there for she would have to be transported to the nearest trauma center if you pulled your head from your rear since you know the protocol you would know this so next time just take her yourself since you cant do anything but complain blue jay and also you can have the dispatcher call out other ambulace services scott county is not the only service in the county oh and if you didnt want info or input why did you post
heres to knowing lol

Oh Here's Something Since You "know The Protocol".maybe You Should Learn Before You Assume That You Know Something, Because From What I've Read Of The Post's You Know Little Of What You Speak Of.seems Like You Just Want To Complain About Something.and To You Garry You Are In Essence Stupid As A Rock.anybody In The E.m.s Field Are Grossly Under Paid.mainly Because The Ignorance That You Are Propagating Are The Same Ones That Are The Dui Wrecks "got Drunk And Beat Up" Bs Calls They Have To Deal Maybe If It Were Indeed A Money Racket They Would, have Better Paid Employees And Better Equipment To Save Your A$$ When You Do Something Stupid.
