The Texas Education Code states that the school may charge a $15 administrative fee to return a cell phone that is being used during school. That amount seems too low. We should throw the phone in the trash if they are caught with it in school.

Yes, the phone belongs to the student, just like their backpacks, pencils, and whatever else belong to them. However, if they become a distraction, they can be taken away. That's life and we are not teaching kids about REAL LIFE in school anymore.
