Even legal prescription medication can "intoxicate" you to the point that you are unsafe to drive.
The fact that this woman committed a hit&run offense immediately prior to the fatal collision suggests to me that she was indeed "intoxicated" from the use of pain pills and other medication.
I pray for the family and the 3 innocent children but I predict the grandmother will be in some serious trouble with the law.
Looks like excellent grade A work from the PA State Police.

I agree with you John. She had to intoxicated or under the influence of one or more medications because a normal person would not floor their car around the person they just rear-ended if their in the right state of mind to begin with.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of those three young innocent kids and it's a shame and a tradgedy that those kids never will have a chance to grow up because of a poor decision that one made.
Regardless if this woman is a grandmother or not, she deserves to be cracked down on because she should have never been on anything while having those kids in her car and risking their safety. That was selfish and inconsiderate and now three children left this world too early and there is a mother who will never see her kids again.
Definitely a job well done for the PA State Police
