This is beyond ridiculous! Christians have the right to say what they believe as well as non-Christians. If people can have offensive material on cars (silhouettes of naked women on mud flaps, bumper stickers with foul language and things about other religions), then Christians should be able to have a license plate that says "I Believe". This is a COMPLETE violation of our First Amendment. Whatever happened to Freedom of Speech and Free Exercise of Religion?? If you're going to favor non-Believers over Believers and vice versa, then you shouldn't be a Judge at all.. Why be fair to one group of people b/c that's what you believe, but have total disregard for the other group and what they believe? Being a Believer is NOT a crime, yet they are treating it as such when they silence us, even with something as simple as a license plate!!!!
Obviously you you fail to understand the Founding Principle of seperating the church from the state, but how is anyone prevented from expressing their opinions by their own means without entangeling the state?

"I Believe" I believe Our Lord is getting sick of this country. Our country is supposed to be a christian country. The Lord is fixen to bring Judgement against us if we dont start acting like we should. They have done took GOD out of our schools and look at whats happening. Just imagine whats going to happen when we take him out of this country. "I heard we might be allowing muslims to pray at schools." But us christians cant. I dont know if this statement is true but I wouldn't put it past our government to pass something like that. GOD BLESS US ALL....TRAVIS VAUGHN e-mail me @ travisvaughn29624@yahoo.com

Would you support the state issuing "Satan Saves" license plates? BTW, there is a legal distinction between stickers you plaster all over your personal property (car) and state property (license plate).

Anybody can put their own message on their own car. Just get a front plate with your desired message or a bumper sticker or one of those vinyl stick on signs. Heck, paint it on for a permanent expression of whatever you want to express.

Nobody is being prevented from turning their car into a personal billboard with their message on it -- advertising, religious, philosophical, whatever. Just go mark up your car stop whining for pete's sake.

Our country is Not a "christian" country, it was highjacked by christians who want to force their beliefs on other people. The USA was founded on freedom of religion and other freedoms, that means we have the right to NOT believe in fictional characters who are "watching over US"! If you want to profess your religious beliefs through your car, get some stickers or write on it. The license plate is a part of Our government and should represent all of US, not just christian zealots! Maybe muslims could get Allah U Akbar on their license plates, wonder how the christians would feel about that, betcha all the cars with muslim plates would get keyed and have their tires slashed, that's what christian rightwingers do!

Christians pray at school everyday, every time they take a test, every time they eat, every time they look at a pretty girl, nobody is stopping christians from praying, just from having group prayers that disrupt school activities or draw attention/intimidate others who don't want to "pray" to some space being who doesn't exist except in the minds of the indoctrinated!

Equal time. They were entitled to it, and all it says is "In Reason We Trust." No one seeing the tag would know it is sponsored by Secular Humanists if it weren't for busybody town criers like you. If you're going to introduce religion into the state's functions, all of them get to come in, including Satanism, Paganism, Islam, and even Pastafarianism, i. e., worship of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

That's the reason why the Founders, who had the foul stench of religious insurrection in their nostrils from religious wars, demanded a wall of separation between church and state and drafted it into the First Amendment as the First clause. It was first for a reason.

See _Everson vs. Board of Education_ for details of the Supreme Court's ruling on separation of church and state. Justice Hugo Black recited from Thomas Jefferson's Letter to the Baptists at Danbury. Jefferson clearly stated that the First Amendment's Establishment Clause created a wall of separation. That's the law and we'll live with it and keep it that way.

Travis, nobody can prevent God from being wherever He wants to be. Nobody can prevent you from praying, whether you are in school or driving your car or seated before your meal or standing in a line at WalMart. Prayer is private communion between you and God. If God is in your heart and you are in school, then God is in your school. As long as God is alive in your heart, then He is alive in this nation.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
