OK people! Have some respect for this person...whatever happened to ďInnocent until proven guilty?Ē I'm not by ANY means a lesbian but I believe that everyone is entitled to live their life as they want and be happy with it. Who are we to judge the lifestyle of someone else? So all you people that are against the Gay/Lesbian community need to get over it, itís NOT going to change the fact that there are Gay and Lesbian people ALL OVER THE WORLD.
Is it wrong to "fraternize" with your students, YES! So letís NOT turn this into a GAY/LESBIAN thing and make it about what it isÖan ALLIGATION of a teacher-student relationship that MAY or MAYNOT have been rape. Thatís the thing; we donít even know the full story on this. There are a lot of questions that are still left unanswered so why donít we leave out the rude comments bashing her for being a lesbian and see what happens and what the TRUTH is, if this were you or your daughter being pressed with these charges wouldnít you want the same thing? You have the right to think and say what you want itís called FREEDOM of SPEECH but put yourself in this position of not only this person but as the family of this person and ask yourself, would you like reading a comment like the one you posted???

the problem isn't that shes a lesbian, the problem is she had an inappropriate relationship with an underage student. Dont try and make this a anti lesbian thing cause i love watching lesbian videos on the internet

Okay....read all comments above and this is my take: First, the other girl is/was 17...she should have known better too. So, I think the words RAPE is a little strong, especially when it went on several times obviously! I think both of them ought to be slapped for the whole act. Gays and Lesbians...nature didn't intend for us to swing homo...if it did, reproduction wouldn't occur naturally as in most cases! I believe in this world of indescentsy...people need to grow up and get their head out of their *ss's! Lastly...I think both of these two need to be punished for doing what they did in school...and the teacher...her teaching license revoked for life. I'm just sayin'....wake up America!

I dont think anyone was trying to make it a lesbian thing. I think that person was trying to say it has nothing to do with her sexuality but EVERYTHING to do with wether or not she had a relationship with this student which if true I agree was very wrong

I agree K-Dawg, Rape is a little harsh considering in the eyes of the Law...a 14 year old can be charged as an adult in some crimes, they were both wrong if these alligations are TRUE and correct. The comments I am referring to are the ones posted earlier, there should be NO reason to "hang" someone or "sew them shut" or to make comments about this Defendants personal upbringing. I know several loving MOTHER~FATHER couples that have gay or lesbian children, its not neccessaraly in the "upbringing" of a child. I know of ALOT of people that have had "relationships" with teachers/substitute teachers....all in all its the same...its wrong and should have happend but doesnt mean RAPE happend either!

Gay behavior as an abomination aside, you are absolutely right. People are free to do what they believe in unless, of course, in the case of it involving a minor. Homosexuality is an affront to God's law and doing it with a minor is also against civil law. Both have consequences, but it is a personal choice except that with a minor, it becomes a matter of social concern. And, as you've mentioned, in America (at least for now) a person IS presumed innocent until proven guilty. Only God knows her heart and soul, and a judge or jury will take care of the civil issue. In the meantime, it might be wise to withhold any rude or possibly unjust accusations.

Sorry, but homosexuality comes from NATURE.If you are really gung ho about being a fundamentalist when it comes to the Bible, do you have the urge to kill your neighbors when you see them working on Sundays? Do you think children should be killed for disobedience? Do you eat food considered unclean or un-kosher according to Leviticus? I say that if you're going to pull the "man should not lie with a man" line from the Bible to condemn all gay people, then you might as well stop eating pork as it is an "unclean" animal to eat according to the Bible as well.

It is illegal for a secondary school teacher to have a sexual relationship with a student in Oklahoma regardless of the student's age. The student could have been 18, and it wouldn't have mattered.

I don't think people choose to be "gay". But NO ONE should be molesting any student/minor in any manor. That said, I also believe that the term "RAPE" is not quite appropriate when the minor has reached puberty, consented, but has not reached the legal age of consent.

Christyn Raincrow posted bail and is out of jail now. On a side note, I personally know her and she is a very likeable person. This isn't the first time she has had a relationship with an underage female but I'll highly doubt it wasn't consensual. The girls parents are probably the one pressing charges. Not that it excuses what she does. I don't think it was rape. Sleeping with your students is considered rape regardless. This shouldn't be a gay/lesbian issue. Plently of straight teachers sleep with their students.

This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. This year they have documented over 350 of these types of incidents. They also have a map of where the incidents have taken place. In 2009 they found 464 of these kinds of cases.

Silly dyke should have known better than to mess with a student in the first place. The bright side is if she's convicted she can have all the women she wants in prison. Then we won't have to worry about her victimizing our daughters at school.
