I really feel the slum lords around Dunbar should be required to repair and maintain their properties. It would not only help home owners but also renters. There are so many houses that could be made better with just some paint.

Just so you know

Under West Virginia law, landlords are required to maintain your rental housing in a fit and habitable condition from the time you move in until the time you move out. This means that the
landlord must make all necessary repairs in a timely and adequate manner during the entire time you live there. The law (called a“statute”), which requires landlords to do this, is found in West
Virginia Code §37-6-30

Document all efforts to contact our landlord with a certified letter return receipt requested. Keep a copy of the letter for your records the law requires he respond to you promptly.

If you have anymore problems you can always call legal aid 1-800 642-8279
