Thanks to all who wrote. I've heard other stories about Neibauer by word of mouth, so will avoid this chain at all costs. Sounds like the same high pressure sales tactics used by Coast Dental in Stafford. It's all about revenue.

I wont agree with some of the comments people have stated. I like going to this practice a lot. It might be a little expensive but I feel it has been worth it. Leslie is a little pushy when it came to my treatment plan but when I sat down with my dentist Dr. Kumar he was very kind enough to let me know why that work needed to be done. He answered all the questions and concerns I had. In the end I was convinced. He has been a great dentist and I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks for doing a great job on me.

First of all let me start of by saying that everybody has there own experience and there own opinion. Neibauer isntall about the money he's 100% about his pts. Almost every post on here is about how exspensive but everyone has to make money. Do you guys except to get work done for free. Also The reason half oof the money is needed up front is because how many ppl do u think would get the work done and never pay. It unfortunante that not everyone can be trusted. They guarantee there work for 5 years and I can tell you there work is top notch. Why do you think they have the hours they do so its convient for the pt's. I understand that some ppl have had a bad experience but itsnot like they just want you to come n and take your money. Things happen and mistakes happen. They want to give u the best care and what's best for your teeth. I can tell u that if dr neibauer knew about anyone having such terriable things to say about the compaNy he wouldn't like it. He has worked very hard to get where he is

I can tell u that some ppl slip through ex; managers or doctors that need to be let go and once upper managment catches wind that there. Not following ndc standard or excpectations they r talked with and sometimes if necessary let go.

I just went in to Neibauer....I used to use them back when they were called Sunshine Dental, so I thought I'd stick with them.
I came in with hopes to get a few things fixed and left crying and have been depressed since.
I'm in my early twenties, I live on my own and I don't make a whole lot. As most people in their twenties, I also have no credit, so I can't get approved for anything.
I came into this dentist office with pain where a filling had fallen out (that they did years ago) and could tell before even going that I would most likely need a root canal and a crown. I also new that I had a few problem spots, cavaties, that could use some filing. That's it.
They cleaned my teeth and the next thing I know a woman in a business suit is sitting next to me in my dental chair. She hands me a peice of paper, while saying, we want to get your started right away. The paper indicates that I would owe 5,700 dollars for all the dental work I needed (after what my insurance pays)(and let me also mention that they told me i NEED a veneer). But, for the one tooth that I came in for, it was going to cost 1500 dollars. My insurance would cover 780 and I would need to pick up the rest. I almost died of a heart attack just looking at ONE tooth. So I tried to rap my head around it and said okay, when can we start...she then tells me that they can get me in the very next day, BUT she will half of the money to schedule my appointment and then would next the other half when they finished the work tomorrow.
For someone who is in their early twenties, I do not have 800 dollars just hanging out in my bank account to spend over the course of two days (or even two weeks).
It was very discouraging.
I left with no antibiotics for my tooth and no idea what I'm going to do about the pain.
It cost my insurance 270 somethng dollars just for the visit and cleaning and now am wondering if that is going to mess me up to try and go to another dentist and start all over.:(
CONFUSED.
Anyone have a good dentist to recommend who wont charge me an arm, leg, liver and soul?
Thanks

Hopeless Service! Reckless Dentist,
this corporation is all about making easy money.
very poor quality dental work done, they rush the dentists around, make them do things which patient do not need, charge heavily & eventually the patient has to suffer.
what a rip off!!!

I switched dentists from a horrible dentist that would give you candy afterward to NDC. I saw a huge improvement and my sister who has horrible teeth went to one dentist where they saw 6 cavities to NDC where they only found 2. I've never had a horrible experience with NDC. I love going to the dentist and always have, I'm one of those weird people. Whenever I have a problem with a job they performed (ex. chipped a filling) they were very understanding. They didn't even make me pay for the rework. All of the staff is very nice and helpful and the Dentists are very sociable. I would recommend them to any of my friends and even do on occasion. The horrible reviews seem to be coming from only a few of their locations. I have been to the Waldorf and LaPlata branches and even to the White Plains Ortho branch and I never had a horrible experience like the ones posted above. I'm sorry that you all have not had the same great experience I have.

Regretfully this is very negative feedback regarding your Culpeper,VA location. My son, was a patient there. I made an appointment for him on May 6th due to his tooth being in pain. We went in and met with the Dentist. After looking at an xray he determined that the best course of action would be to pull the tooth. After waiting for some time to get my sonís mouth numb enough, he attempted to pull the tooth out. I was shocked to learn that the tooth broke in half(above the gum line) and left 2 roots intact. He tried to pull the rest out but could not and at this point my son was extremely traumatized and yes, cried loudly and struggled to get out of the chair. I would be too, if I was his age and experiencing the same situation.
The Dentist gave up and sent us to a specialist, in Frederickburg, VA (a town I am not familiar with) 45 minutes away. So now I have my son in my car screaming his head off, his mouth in pain, trying to keep the gauze in his mouth to stop the bleeding, trying to drive to an unknown location (for me) to get to another dentist. After finding the location I brought my now calm son to see They took another xray which shows the break. He said there was no way it could just be pulled out. Needs surgery. I nearly passed out! I have copies of the xray for your review. Since I felt that it had to be done since his tooth is now exposed and can get infected making things worse. He informed me to go back to his office the next morning, 8:00AM. Since it needs surgery, Aidan will need to be sedated and once the tooth is pulled, he will apply a spacer so the adult tooth can come out normally. All this at a cost of $650 - At this point my main concern is my son, not the time to haggle prices. The next day, everything went great! I spoke to the office manager of your Culpeper office and requested some sort of compensation from them since all of this happened there. To be honest, your dentist is human and make mistakes. And this is one of them. But there is accountability here. It had nothing to do with my son being uncooperative at all that he couldn't finish the extraction or ending up having to be sedated. From what I was told almost all Surgical Extractions need Sedation. I am looking for fairness here. These are tough times, financially for alot of people. That $650 was a big part of our mortgage money and it's gone. Please look into your hearts and do the right thing. I hope having these posts here and other sites are helpful, I don't want another mother to go through what I did, let alone their child. I will never recommend Neibuer again.

I don't think I said i blamed them for my son crying.... If that's what you read, then, maybe I should have been clearer. All I said was while he was there to get his tooth out, it Broke. We had to spend $650 for a surgical extraction, which needs sedation. Heard back from the dentist and the actually blamed my son's behavior as the reason for the sedation. My feeling is that there are taking no accountability for this. That the sedation was needed for the procedure, REGARDLESS on how my son's behaviour was.
I am glad you had a better experience than we did. All the best to you.

Right, and it's a matter of time before you have a problem there. You shouldn't judge others opinions. If Dr . Neibauer was concerned about what EVERYONE was saying, he would attempt to repair his damaged reputation.

This is not all true. I have a friend who works for Neibauer as a dental hygienist that had absolutely no background in the field, but rather went to school to be a teacher, and Neibauer has hired her to be a hygienist? Neibauer is putting her through school while she is allowed to work on people's ....
