Small-Town Mayors Agree Palin's Experience Valid

While critics of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin attack her experience as governor of a sparsely populated state, Alaska, and mayor of a small town, mayors of small towns in northern Virginia ... Full Story

Guess he is one of the Republicans like Cindy McCain that believes if your a govern of a Alaska b/c it's next to Russia then you will have Foreign Policy experience, which means any state that borders or next to any foreign country has foreign policy experience.

KISSIMMEE, Fla.(AP)- Anyone wanting a Hillary vs. Sarah smackdown might be in for a letdown. First, Sarah Palin launched her Republican vice presidential campaign with praise for the strides Hillary Rodham Clinton made in her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination. On Monday, Clinton spoke in kind.

"It is a great accomplishment," Clinton said of Palin's selection as the GOP's first female running mate. Clinton told a rally of 500 that the election will be decided on issues, not the historical significance of the candidates, and Democrat Barack Obama and his running mate Joe Biden bring more to the table than the Republican ticket.

"Women as well as men make their decisions after they weigh the evidence," Clinton said. "As Americans go into that voting booth, what they have to ask themselves is not so much who am I for, as who is for me? And I don't think it's an even close question that we have the ticket that is going to do the best job in restoring the American promise."

About the most she'd say about Palin is that she and Republican presidential candidate John McCain "are not the change that we need."

Former Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson is dismissing any notion the Obama campaign would dispatch Clinton to take on Palin, as much as he thinks some people would revel in seeing the two strong women butt heads.

"Don't hold your breath," he wrote in his New Republic blog. "Clinton-Palin might drive ratings and sell magazines, but it wouldn't be good for the Democratic Party, or the cause of women's rights. Some might enjoy the spectacle, but don't expect Hillary Clinton to play along."

While Palin is pretty that does not speak for her ability. I do NOT agree being a mayor of a small town is just like being one of a large city. As being govenor of Alaska was she asked to make decisions about war? No, and I for one republican am scared to death McCain will not live out his term....THEN WHAT? Her politics are not comforting or compelling. Her ability to teach abstinance is a bit of a joke don't you think and the down and dirty affairs her name keeps popping up in is also an area of concern for me, I would hope everyone would require a bit more information before we elect her to office, I'd like to hear from her OBGYN to put all of these terrible rumors about her daughter. I would NEVER allow this speculation to continue about my 17 year old daughter, pregnant or not. And has anyone REALLY spoken with the baby's daddy's parents. Anyone check bank accounts?

I'm sorry to seem so skeptical but really, she shows up and everyone wants to give her their first born. Wake up America, being able to shoot a moose is not impressive. Find out the truth about her, I think you all might be surprised.

This republican is voting democrat this year! Already made my change.

IN THE SENATE??? he's made absolutely ZERO executive decisions, ZERO!!!!! he's hardly been around the block once. Dems better play another angle and keep their mouths shut when it comes to experience.

what an idiot, are you senile? read what you just wrote about her and then take a look at this neophyte socialist. You're willing to put your faith in someone who belonged to a white hating church for 20 YEARS!! and who has never made an executive decision during his whole 1/2 year as a freshman senator?? Who does your thinking for you granny??

Please keep in mind - while Obama was voting "Present" instead of "Yea or Nea" Sarah Palin was actually having to make decisions that she alone was responsible for. I'd say that makes her much more qualified than Obama...

It is amazing how the Liberal/SOCIALISTS in this country have lost their minds to a Messianic celebrity.

Obama has spent exactly 148 days as the junior Senator from Illinois BEFORE throwing his name into the presidential race. He is the Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on European Affairs , yet has NEVER convened the subcomittee. I guess he has been too busy pretending to be the Second Coming do do his job.

Obama is friends with a known terrorist from the 1960s and early 1970s by the name of Bill Ayers. Bill Ayers is the founding member of the Weather Underground which bombed the Pentagon and the Capitol BEFORE Al-Qaeda. Bill Ayers said "I wish I had done more" when asked about his terrorist activities.

Obama is/was friends for over 20 years with a radical hate-monger preacher who spouts hate and vitriol against the United States in church (obviously the concept of "love thy neighbor" is lost in that congregation... so much for Christianity there).

Obama's childhood "mentor" was a known Communist.

Obama's political agenda is not one of change for America, but more like a change TO Amerika. His views are more Socialist than they are Democrat. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that his "policies" could be met without increasing the tax burden of EVERYONE making over $50k/year. Currently, the "top 1%" of wage earners cover approximately 40% of the tax revenues collected and the "top 10%" cover over 80% of the government's tax coffers.

If anything will drive industry and jobs AWAY from America, it will be Obama's "economic policies." It is SIMPLE economics. As the cost of doing business increases, the cost to consumers will need to increase accordingly. If things get too far out of hand, then business must close down or move to locations that are more friendly. Anyone who has taken even one semester (and stayed awake for the lectures) of basic economics would know this.

Wake up LIBERALS! A vote for Obama will DESTROY EVERYTHING America stands for!

While small towns around here do have problems such as crime and gridlock, I don't really think Wasilla has similar problems. And they probably don't have budget problems either since they get tons of federal earmarks and the residents receive checks from the big oil companies up there. The biggest problem they probably have in Wasilla is whether or not to chase moose out of the middle of Main Street.

And what angel is the Republican going to play? Oh yea they are pushing an angel already. By saying Obama is a Muslim, that he supports terrorist, that only Republicans can keep the country safe, that they will ban gays, and so on. Republicans are blind and stupid. They need to think before opening their mouths. The must be begging another 4 Yrs of Bush since they want McCain to win so bad. Then again Republicans has been banking ever since Bush has been power.

One advantage of being mayor of a large city verses a small Alaskan town is you get to rewrite election laws allowing non-citizens to vote.

Forget what you learned about the Constitution, it don't matter anymore. Look at major cities in blue states and you will find what I say is true. In Chicago, Detroit,LA,and NYC non-citizens will be handed a ballot and casting their votes this November.

So you tell me, where do you think voter fraud is more prevalent. Palin's little Alaskan town or Obama's hometown.

This is why immigrant advocacy groups and democrats require bilingual ballots and bilingual judges be in place in the polls on election day. This is also the reasoning behind a certain political party pitching such a fit about voters showing an ID in the polling places.

So you tell me, where do you think voter fraud is more prevalent and I'll show you the difference between small town America and big city Mayors .

Please don't vote. If you don't know by now that the president is elected to a 4 year term, you are probably either an illegal immigrant or mentally deficient. Hopefully, you have not procreated to further lower the intellectual level of the nation.

Just as a reminder to the simpletons out there. The only way they would get "8 more years" would be if after the first term of 4 years, they ran again and were re-elected -- which, by the way would mean the American people would have thought they did a very good job during the first 4 years and didn't like their Demoncrat opponents in either 2008 or 2012.

We are already seeing Osama's numbers start to slip in the polls. Once he has to debate McCain, the world will know for a fact that "Barry" is a moron. If it isn't written down in a script or on a teleprompter, he makes George Bush sound like a well rounded speaker.

Need I remind you of his GAFFE about visiting all "57 states," or while he was watching the convention speech from is wife, he said he was in St. Louis, but was actually in Kansas City. Obviously, he failed Geography.
