Whether it is, or is not the case, this is the direct result of a society that will not have God in their lives. God has said that He alone will take vegeance upon the wicked (Hebr. 10:30; Rom. 12:19). As difficult as it may be to watch family members suffer, we must allow God to punish, and not take it into our own hands.

Jeremiah, are you saying if a person or family member is being harmed we should do nothing, to let God punish? Speaking here in a generic form, not specific to this situation. Or....maybe you are saying only become involved enough to stop a person from being harmed and not 'take the law into our own hands"?

I do not wish to twist your words, simply understand them. Your "difficult .. to watch family members suffer" confuses me.

Thanks.

Willow,

I don't remember the whole story, but I believe it was a shooting over someone in the pawn shop reportedly having molested this man's daughter or something.
I'm not saying that we can do nothing when someone is harmed. I'm saying that it must be done in the correct and legal way. We have every right to protect ourselves of any immediate threat. After the threat, and without our presence but we hear about it happening, we must bring the police into the matter and not take it into our own hands.
Shooting or trying to kill someone over a matter that occurred in the past is not within our authority to take care of. God says, it is His matter to take care of (Romans 13).
He has authorized civil authorities to take care of it, and if they don't - or even if they do and the person never repents, they will answer to God in the end.
