2005 story on CVYSL embezzler-Julie Angelosante aka Julie Rosecrans

Back in Jan. of this year you had front page news of a soccer parent embezzling over $160k from the Castro Valley Youth Soccer League. There hasn't been any follow up stories on this issue and I was just wondering whether or not this person was convicted of the crime yet or if she was let off on probation. Would you guys please do an update story? Inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks

Many of us want to know what is going on with this case. The soccer league has a large community that was hurt by this. Any word yet on where this case is at?

Any idea if she is going to serve any time in jail at all? This was all over the papers at the start but there hasn't been any updates at all.

She is scheduled for 12/26. It's set in the General Civil Department, so looks like they didn't file criminal charges.

Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for 18-Jan-2007 at 8:45 a.m. in Hayward court.

So what happened this morning?

Paper said sentencing was postponed until Feb 8th to allow her to pay off the balance. in total she had to pay $229, because of interest. She has to date paid $120.
From what I understand if she pays the balance she gets 60 days, in not 1 year.

Wow!! So, I guess she just took a loan from the soccer league. Criminals come in many shapes and sizes. If this had happened in another community with someone of a different race I am sure there would have been criminal charges. Well, I guess she has to live with it. Maybe that's punishment enough.

She goes back to court tomorrow. She is seeing a crimanal department judge, so we shall see. It should be in Friday's paper. He's a good/fair judge so it will be interesting to see if she paid what was ordered.

I heard that they gave her a few more weeks to pay the additional monies and the soccer league states that they would "prefer" for her to not go to jail. They just want their money. I guess that is truly what this is all about. I agree that she should go to jail. She committed a crime.
