does anyone know this cat? He seemed pretty cool, met him at the laundry mat a while ago. Wow! What a night it was! I loved listening to his stories. He was very kind to my boyfriend and I. So I was wondering if anyone believes that he really did the stuff the city of williamstown says he did?

Bob was really kind to my husband and I when we met him at the laundry mat... I dont think that he did what the City of Williamstown said that he did. That is why he robbed the banks! My point exactly. What kind of person well into middle, if not the latter stages of life, resides in a place with no laundry hookup, let alone a washer/dryer? A penniless loser or in this case, a convicted felon wiht a penchant for the tall tale. The guy is prohibited from a variety of things respectable memebrs of the community are afforded. One being the right to run or hold elected office. Good luck with the misguided campaign.

aaa...you are so right, people do change and since we are all humans and all make mistakes our judgement of other people doesn't really have a leg to stand on. BUT we live in Grant County where it doesn't matter what you've done IF you have the right last name and/or the right group of buddies. If your just an average joe though, you might as well forget it. People will still be talking about dumb stuff you did 20 or 30 years later.

Why was Mr. Jones at the laundry mat if he has his own washer/dryer? The point here is several fold, but I'll limit this to a couple of key points. 1) the guy is an admitted deviant and criminal. 2) he preys on weaker people who give him the time of day. It's only a matter of time before he takes advantage of someone's kindness or violates the conditons of his parole and ends up back in the pokey.

His side of the story is crap. I hope he has changed, but what you fail to understand is that he betrayed the public trust and was exposed as a fraud and a criminal. The fact that this guy can't afford a washer or dryer and is reduced to hanging out at the laudry mat is fitting. BTW, if you loathe Grant county so much, why do you live there? Sounds like you are either jealous or bitter or just plain lazy.

#1 If a person has paid the legal consequences for their actions, that should be end of story. You wanna judge someone morally? See John 8:7.
#2 Do you seriously base your opinion of people on what they own? So the guy doesn't have a washer & dryer...so what? I have a good job, but if my washer & dryer quit working I wouldn't be able to replace them right away...guess then I'd be some low-life hanging out at the laundrymat too.
#3 There are a lot of people here in Grant County and all over who have "betrayed the public trust" and were "exposed as a fraud and a criminal." Doesn't make them bad people, just people who made bad choices.

john 8:7 ??? The bible is crap and yes, by any measure, Mr. Jones is a failure. I have wealth because I am educated and work hard. Lazy people and criminal types are poor because of the choices they make. If you don't want to hang out in a laundry mat don't rob banks, stuff coke up your nose and betray the public trust. If he was just another person I'm sure you would not be running your mouth on here. I don't know if you're really a judgmental complete jerk or if you're just mouthing off online where it is safe for you to vent your built-up frustrations that you are too cowardly to confront in a healthy way.
Also, I do not personally know Mr. Jones BUT I am willing to bet that despite his shady past, he is a MUCH nicer person than you!
To counter two of your ill-supported statements: in reality, many criminals are not poor, and most people who use laundrymats are not former inmates.
Your mind really seems to be a one-way street that is probably closed most of the time...

You realize of course that you are defending a self admitted cocaine addict, corrupt politician and a bank robber? It's not that I judge so much as it is a jury of his peers have already done so by way of guilty verdicts. He may very well be a "nice guy", however he is in fact morally bankrupt, prone to deviant and criminal acts, and evidently reduced to hanging around the laundry mat. How very lovely.
