Twiggs BOE rescinds vote to reopen school

Two weeks after the Twiggs County school board approved reopening Dry Branch Elementary School, the board did an about face and changed its mind.

No way the Dry Branch school should reopen. Can we also considering bankrupting the county and shutting down a losing situation all together. If Twiggs County just goes away Bibb, Houston, Laurens, Bleckley, Wilkinson and Jones would be able to absorb our students as well as provide social services. We have nothing but our property taxes to contribute any longer and it may be time for our county to disolve.

From where I am sitting, dissolve may not be such a bad idea! This county is being run into the ground by the people running it, it is the agenda they want and not the citizens of this county only the select few. I am still not sure how Twiggs BOE has gone for this long without following the vote made on opening the school. They are in violation of the law by continuing not opening the school. Here we are going into the 2009-2010 school year and there are STILL no plans of doing as the voters voted. If the votes do not count when voters take their time out, to follow their constitutional rights as citizens of the United States, in Twiggs County where do they count. If a county can not follow the law that states should the majority of the votes fall in favor of reopening the school, then it has to be reopened the following school year and not touched for at least 4 years, then that county should dissolve! It is a crime to the citizens of that county, to that state and to the entire country as a whole because it screams across this nation "YOUR VOTES DO NOT COUNT UNLESS YOU VOTE ON WHAT WE AS PUBLIC OFFICIALS WANT AND FOLLOWS THE AGENDA WE WANT TO FOLLOW!!!" plain and simple. It could not scream any louder you are living in a dictatorship!
