I agree with you and i believe that if one is a born again christian and christ lives in you in the form of the word in your spirit you certainly know what the spirit commands to wear and not to wear.

Julia, the fact is that God did not make most women beautiful. I have no idea what you look like, but since I'd say onl 3-5% of women are really beautiful, chances are you're not one of them. Makeup helps. You may not care what you look like. But other people are the ones who have to look at you. So give the world a break, and put on a little lipstick and mascara. Really, it's not going to kill you. Foundation, for whoever said it's bad for the skin, is the best sun protection there is. And really, how could anyone be so deranged to think that God has time to give a flying if you're wearing make up -- or whatever you wear, for that matter.
Who's perception is that, what are you going by in regard to beauty, the commercials on TV and the glamour industry is a fake don't you know that. Many of the models are teenagers who have not received the blemish and stretch marks of age. Or they are the actresses who go through hours and hours of make up and even plastic surgery to make themselves look like what is in style now. These man made ideas of style and looks change over a period of time and can not be kept up with, because it is a race of vanity.

<quoted text>
Yes sometimes it means separating ourselves physically. God's people have always been separate and distinctive. As you can see it does literally mean to come out or separate yourselves and it is nothing new God's people have always been separate and distinctive to a point of being easily recognized by those around them.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."

…16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Why come out from among them, and be you separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18 And will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty.

(it could just as easily be talking about self worship here we can also make ourselves a idol. How so, by putting so much interest in ourselves and how we look to put God and his dealings with us to the side, putting worship of God in second place. That is a great spiritual weakness of this me, me, me generation we live in right now.)

Isaiah 52:11 Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the articles of the LORD's house.

Jeremiah 15:17 I never sat in the company of revelers, never made merry with them; I sat alone because your hand was on me and you had filled me with indignation.

Revelation 18:4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say: "'Come out of her, my people,' so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues.

Be it sufficient we should be putting God first, not ourselves, we need to be concerned with his will not our own.

KY Christian, I totally agree with you!
I do trim my hair maybe once every 2 years, taking off about an inch, but that's it! And mine is not broken or split ended. A woman's hair is her glory.
1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
1Co 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
I can't find the Scripture that says the "dog ate all of jezebel except her makeup". Perhaps you could give me the reference.
2 Kings Chapter 9 in the context is speaks of her putting on make up and fixing her hair. Then later the dogs eating her leaving only her head, hands and feet. So I guess you could say they did not eat her make up, because they did not eat her head.

Try to use some common sense Robert, you can not plow with a Ox and donkey the Ox would do damage to the donkey because it is a weaker animal, so it was forbidden under the Mosaic Law and it is forbidden by common sense now.

We are not under the Mosaic Law given to the people through Moses, it is a perfect law of sacrifice and carried the death penalty for certain infractions. That said, the dress code of modesty and some other parts of the law are referenced and carried over into the New Testament as some call it, that developed during Jesus time here on the earth and after his sacrificial death. You are choosing to nit pick or showing a vast amount of ignorance of the Bible one or the other which I do not know. The purpose for those laws and the writings in the new testament were for several reasons, morals was and is important, to dissuade anything that would tend to turn people toward homosexuality and other perversions both then and now in our so called modern times.

Also the scriptural headship principle is involved, males have been chosen by God to be leaders of the family, congregation and to be in submission to Christ Jesus, Christ Jesus of course being in submission to his father God (Jehovah in most English bibles, Exodus 6:3; Psalms 83:18 in the King James for example). In this way cross dressers (male, effeminate men or female) or those women who would want to usurp that arrangement an put them in conflict with God, this has caused much confusion of late in some congregations. The word submission is by most miss understood, some wish to put the word slavery in its place. but take a close look at the scriptures involved. Over 154 verses have a bearing on the word submission. Look on this website and list of scriptures, compare them to your own bible.

I always cringe when you show people what God has to say about a certain subject through the scriptures and then they say these words, "this is what I believe", don't they have any understanding?

Deut 22:5 pertaineth, pertain: to have an attribute or to be related to. it is saying that a woman musnt wear apparell that can be labeled as a mans garment. it goes on to state that man shouldnt put on a womans garment. are pants strictly mens clothing? if I put on a pair of womans pants God wouldnt be to chuffed im sure.
as long as the garment ios distinctive in which sex it is for, in combination with modesty etc etc reflecting the heart etc.
you are wrong about 1 pet 3:3 "..MERELY outward.."
do not let it (your adornment) be MERELY outward.
its not condeming the use of jewerly and make up. thats not to say though that you can full-on bling bling with yo grrrill and lipstick LOL.
I know a lot of apostolic woman, who wear men looking tennis shoes with a jean skirt, or baseball caps, t-shirts, vest, suit jackets, men looking blouses, sweatshirts. It's like it's ok to wear mens clothing up top, as long as you have a skirt with it it's fine. Makes no sense to me. Also what uf a man wears pastel colored shirts, or ties? Pertaining to a man, if that's what you believe should be all clothing then.

I grew up in a religious family and never wore pants until I was 34. I always considered it wrong for women to wear pants.

I worked in an office and found myself to be the only woman to wear a skirt. It did not bother me for some time until I started to feel like the odd one out. I prayed for guidance and one day a feeling came over me saying "Rebecca - you can wear pants if you really want to"

I did nothing about it for a few weeks until I was somehow drawn to the pants rail when out shopping. I decided to try some on and how strange I felt. I bought a black pair and wore them around the house to start with as I felt so self conscious to wear them in public.

Eventually I got use to wearing them and although I may have been self conscious nobody else took any notice. I now wear pants about four times a week and find them really comfortable.

I would say to non-pants wearers to try on some pants to see how comfortable they feel and I have no modesty issues as mine are all dress pants

In a nutshell, any garmets that make a woman attractive to other women or deny a worthy man access for reproduction are morally wrong. Best bet is to avoid breast support devices (bras) and closed "drawers". Use cosmetics at your own risk.

Shouldn't our thoughts be "Does it further the Kingdom of God for me to __________" instead of "Will God let me get away with __________" "If I __________ will I go to hell for it?"
Study the message from the Holy Spirit in the words of apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:23, 24.
On the women wearing pants/skirts issue: "Will anyone be offended by my wearing pants?" "Will anyone be offended by my wearing a skirt?" Re: Romans 14:15

You can find photos on the web of Arabs doing just that: plowing with an ox (cow or steer) and donkey yoked together.

You may indeed find photos, but because they do so does not make it right. Besides most Arabs are not Christians.

Is unfortunate that many girls will sacrifice heaven to wearing of pants and make-ups. Romans 12:1 clearly shows thats the worship of God should reflect in our outward appearance but many youths including our parents and others kicks against it in order to please the flesh. Hell is a place of everlasting torment, i'm pleading with one and all to flee from going to hell. The key to the gate of heaven is HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS which without it, no one wil enter. May God help us. Amen
