Why do you need to get a puppy because you have small kids? Why do you need a Siberian Husky in this heat? Why does the puppy need to be a female?
Sounds like the perfect family for a lab!

I would really look into getting a German Shepherd if you have kids...it will be the most loyal friend your children will ever have! NO LABS! Unless you want your yard dug up and every single thing in your house chewed up!

Yes these other types of dogs are great companions as well but we have always wanted a siberian husky and we have done the research on the behavior of such dog and are aware of the lifestyle of these dogs. They are great with kids and we have two small children, if anyone knows where we can get one at reasonable price we would greatly appreciate the help. I do not want a male dog because they tend to mark their teritory and that is just dirty. Thanks for any help.

HEY...you better do some more research before you get a Husky....I am a former owner of 3...they are BEAUTIFUL dogs...BUT...have you ever seen one that was NOT on a leash???NO, most likely not because they DO NOT follow you around and stay close..they RUN...I know of lots of people whose Huskies just took off over the hill and they never saw them again...you CANNOT just let them run loose around your house...they MUSTS be penned up or tied (which is horrible to do to a dog anyway) and they are escape artists..they can get out of almost any regular dog pen, you need very sturdy high fences...and they LOVE to dig dig dig...you WILL have tunnels in your yard...and the the ones I have seen (at Husky rescue shelters) are NOT good with kids, especially little children ...unless you have UNLIMITED time to train, love and protect this dog you WILL be looking for someone to take the husky off your hands... they are NOT like the ones you love in the movies...that takes TREMENDOUS dedication ...and in this weather you just gotta let them inside to cool off.........FYI

I think her prices depend on what you want the pup for like me mine is just a family pet so i got her cheaper and had to bring proof i got her fixed and was not breeding her she will charge more if you want one for breeding

former husky owner is right about keeping them up i had to move to a farm in the country because i was afraid she would escape and get hurt she always came back never did figure out how she got out had real high fences had the bottom fixed so she couldn't dig out only thing i can figure is she learned to climb lol chaining didn't work she figured out a harness in less than 2 minutes she knew to let a choker get lose and slid out of it and i only needed to chain her while i went to work thats all! lol but i loved her to death she was worth the trouble even so that i got another one

Thanks for the input on Husky's everyone. We found one on craigslist and she is great, she is the smartest dog ive ever seen and minds very well, she does exactly what you tell her too do and loves kids, she is just full of energy and loves to play. When we first brought her home she did get loose the first night and when we got up the next morning she was sitting on the deck waiting for us to come outside, she could of run off but she didn't. I keep her up during the day so she won't bother the neighbors but other than that everything is great. I wouldnt trade her for any other dog. Thanks again everyone
