YUP. This is why I do NOT respect officers just because they are an officer. Policeman have to earn my respect just like everyone else. The Police are full of men & women that think they are above the law and it isn't cool, and it isn't nice and for sure it's not respectable.

If he's guilty, get rid of him. No 2nd chances. Being a law officer he knew full well that what he was doing was wrong. I'd say go back to the old days and hang him...(if he's guilty).

I watched the news feed on this story this evening and was absolutly disgusted with what I was hearing.
I can not beleive that a drunk driver as impaired as salazar was able to be released and drivin home. He could of just as easily injured or killed a number of people in that violent exibition of driving on the roads he has sworen to protect.
The reporting officer also made me sick with the comment that they offten will release people from the scene if they have a safe way home. RIGHT.... What police officer is going to come to a scene seeing you have demolished 4 cars, are reeking of alcohol, then tell you boy you really did a number back there, better get in my car and I'll drive ya home... I don't think so.. Your A@# NEEDS TO BE IN JAIL!!!!!
I Hope Justice Finds You!

Please inform me of anyone you know that has ben released from the scene of an accident and a dui after failing to maintain control of a vehicle. This is the bigest form of favortism I have ever seen. This guy should have gone to jail and he should personally pay the bill on his own, ALL OF IT. i would bet my two feet tht this is not the first time he has ever drove his police car drinking and driving. thankyou

This guy should be right up there with "Stupid Criminals". Just think the guy has just thrown away 28 yrs on the police force when he could have been ready for retirement. Wonder if the alcohol was worth it?

Why was he just cited and not taken to jail? If it was anybody else he would have been taken jail. Why does he get special treatment but anybody else who drives drunk goes to jail!!!!

Big mistake John. A little research shows you were awfuly close to your sister Lisa's house that night. Was she with you? Perhaps you and Mike can rehab together and wonder if you really should have done something about your sister.

the cop who sited this guy and let him "go "should be fired! this is a simple case of the brothers taking care of each other. It is a crying shame the police have put them selfs above the normal citizen. This is just one cop in many many depatments in the state that do this kind of thing!John should go to jail, and have to post bail or sit untill he can have a hearing. This guy got away with too much.Like most Law enforsemnt officiers!

Many police departments release DUI's like this, but they didn't do a good job of explaining how or why. This type of decision making will tarnish the profession.

I have had a DUI before and they treated me as if I had killed someone and I didn't hit anything or hurt anyone. I paid for my error. This guy gets special treatment??? I would like to see how many people this guy let go for DUI?? That response is BS. I have also seen the chief of police(not mentioning the city) drive completely wasted from lots od parties. I have also witness West Jordan officers getting liquored up in Wingers and then driving home. This and many more stories are the reason i have no respect for cops. The attorney for Holliday better charge this fool with DUI and should demand that he be arrested and spend atleast on day in jail. Anyone know the attorney for Holidays email???

I have gotten a DUI before. it was my first time in trouble with the law.I was outside the bar waiting for my cab to show up. I was sitting in my truck (engine not running). The cab pulled up a few minutes after the cop's but they still took me to jail and I had to post bail and get my truck out of inpound.I was polite to the officer but he told me he couldnt just relelease me with a ticket.I guess you have to be one of "the good ol boys"

All I can sit here and keep thinking is wow. The fact that this "officer of the law" was able to drive home after hitting 4 parked cars is just a boggling thought. Did I dream this? And to boot cops wonder why we all have such a hard time respecting them. If anything the police force should be ashamed that instead of making an example of this guy and showing the public that they will not stand for drunk driving they sock us all in the mouth with a big ha ha sucks to be you! I hope that the attorney for Holladay has the gull to stand up for his people and our law.....wishful thinking.

This is B.S. you can not tell me that cops dont get special treatment. If that would have been anyone else they would have got hauled off to jail. Just because it was a cop he walks. This is why most people including me hate cops.

i just love how police think they can do what ever they want and think they can get away with it, he was cited for a DUI and driven home umm last time i checked a citizen would have been arrested so there ya go he has been treated with favorism i dont think thats right that they didnt send him to jail they sent him home thats unfair to the citizens of midvale and the rest of utah these cops think they are above the law and some one needs to put them in check and i think iam gonna have to right a letter to do so.
sincerely,
xoxo jay

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Pisces

You should have a lucky break today when fate steps in and takes a hand. For instance, a situation may seem to be heading for disaster when you're suddenly bailed out in ways you would never have imagined. However, this doesn't mean you can take foolish risks in the hope that things will work out all right because there's no guaranteeing that they'll do so automatically.
