This is the biggest rip-off yet for the people of Utah. We are such guppies. So if the rest of the country gets lower prices from imported gas from other states and gets it cheaper then we need to import our gasoline from out of state. Those processing plants are just price gouging and Utah people are saying OH WELL. I make $9.00 an hour and pay a house payment and all my utilities. Can't afford insurance and could really use some relief. Even the bus is too expensive!!!

No one likes Mormons.

Kidding. Hey, How do you think California felt when every state in the union told us, its our fault that we use more power and deserve rolling black outs and 3 x rate hikes?? I thought we were a Union. I thought fellow states were supposed to help each other out. No, and Utah was one of the most voicetress states to condem California. But here is a message for you, California also has one of the highest Industrial count of any nation. We need that power. Its based on which states are more productive. The reason your gas rates are probably the highest is because Your state is one of the most isolated states in the union. you barely have a million people in the entire state. maybe 2m? You're way the hell out in no where. It cost more money to truck tankers in

Youre Not God,

Get a life dude! We are an easy driving distance from California, I see truckers on the freeway from all over the country.

And for all those that like to bitch about Mormans and smoking and alcohol probably haven't been in Utah and if you have you probably didn't look very hard to find the stuff you are bitching about. We have bars/clubs on about every corner, liquor stores, and gas stations carry cigs.

And I would say a good half of the population are "not" Morman

Actually some of this has to do with the pipeline in Alaska and some has to do with Citgo in Montana, some has to do with State tax on fuel and some has to do with nations like Iran, Venezeula and Nigeria calling for OPEC to cut supply, as well as some commodity traders in Chicago taking advantage of such news.

Actually, I'm Mormon, and you're right. Right now I think it's between 50 and 60 percent LDS. And.. the population is 2.5 mil, BUT 80% of that are on the Wasatch front (making it the 6th most urbanized state in the union)... meaning being in salt lake or utah valley is pretty much like being any where else in the US.

hey, i'm LDS, and I'm proud of it. if california will stop complaining about us then we will stop complaining about you. start being adults and grow up. Nobody gives a crap if you don't like us, it's not like we are throwing a fit because you're not our same religon. we, unlike most, will help you and care for you no matter what your background is. LDS are usually the least judgemental, and if we are, well.. nobody is perfect.

Better gay than mormom! At least the gays are accepted and loved by other faiths, whereas the LDS faith fails to live by it's own Articles of Faith,#13:

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men

Yep, you mormoms sure do love your fellow men when you judge them and call them fags! What a mormom moron.

Interesting, how this turned from a fuel price commentary to a Mormon/Utah discussion in 3 posts.
The fact is, the interstate ssytem runs through all states, with refineries in most areas. Fule prices should be pretty uniform across the country.

Welcome to Utah. Were EVERYTHING revolves around the church. Even Pioneer Day (July 24th) has a bigger meaning in Utah then the 4th of July.

Only in Utah. Only in Utah.

http://saltlakecity.about.com/od/pioneerday/a...

The 24th is a huge holiday for Utahns, even bigger than July 4th. There are more parades and fireworks displays during the Days of 47 celebrations than on the earlier holiday in the month celebrating the country's independence.

Pretty sad.

I can't believe that you people in Utah are complaining about your gas prices. I live in the northeast part of Missouri and our gas prices are at $3.05 per gallon. The highest our gas prices have been as high as $3.50 this summer alone. I only wish i could pay what you all pay. And we do not even have bus service in this city, so all drivers here are stuck paying the current price. We have no choice. Unless we want to walk and for some of us that is not possible because we live in the country. So for those of us who live in the country we either pay the current price of gas or we dont go anywhere. Live with that!!!!!!!!!!
