President Obama made it clear who I should vote for. He told college students that who we elect this time would affect the country for twenty years. I was undecided but now Hurt is the clear choice, if he fails then we will elect someone else. Perriello should really be working in security, that was his field.

Except for being so short, I can picture Perriello working as a Mall Security Officer or a Gate Guard at NGIS.

Do you all recall Nancy Pelosi saying that they had to vote on Obamacare to find out what was in it? I mean really, how DARE they!

Tom Periello was one of the "they" who voted for it. He put the Liberal wish list above the wishes of the people in his district.

Robert Hurt could do absolutely nothing in office and we would still be ahead.

New York Bob who follows the money will be content when he destroys the environment, destroys public education, destroys the middle class. More jobs? More low paying jobs, our country has become a service economy, all these new jobs will further drive a wedge between the classes. The rich get richer, and the poor just get poorer. Let's give these small business owners tax breaks so they can create more minimum wage jobs, then New York Bob will support elimination of the minimum wage which will further line the pockets of these small business owners.

Small business owners are not the rich, evil demons in all this. Southside Virginia needs them. And we need more of them to provide jobs for customer service, delivery, accounting, IT jobs etc. Ever seen a small town dry up when the factories close and people have to go out of town to work? The employees at the grocery store, pharmacy, clothing stores and all the other local businesses get their hours cut or lose their jobs because the people going out of town are not spending in town anymore. Trust me, it ain't pretty. A town needs local jobs to keep everyone going and those jobs are going to come from most part from small business owners.

The Founding structure of any democratic republic is “One Person, One Vote.” Remove this supporting beam from our national foundation and we replace our protections for public reliance with faithful defiance. With Constitutional government of law and civility lanced, we are tipped askew and can be easily toppled by screamers brandishing chaos to force us off balance. Founders fearing a day when money people would damn the democratic fray, to public opinion sway their way against the Red, White and Blue, The Electoral College to track what’s true, came due.
But, once upon a time in 1980, corporations began casting a giant shadow over the land. To pave their streets with gold, the first corporate puppet government was their plan, insuring private enterprise of a “too big to fail” security blanket scam. However, the final phase of The United States of Corporate corrupted, was “We the People” interrupted. Electing instead a different looking white house man, who by the millions we left alone to restore original American business plan. To save the masses, he regulates past corporate passes. Any wonder they would reduce him to ashes?
America the Original forged change through transparent violence, but K Street loyalists and Rove’s amoral Armee aided and abetted by long black robed men in supreme placement, are more secretive in creating Change Wall Street Can Believe in, and base it with a well oiled media blitz of truth distorting America’s sense of balance, with attacks from wolf PACs, tipping us too far “Right” to do for all, what’s bright.
So the play within the play, plays on with a cast of wolves in sheep’s clothing, calling for “poll watchers on Election Day to ensure integrity,” over a misdirected, over power-pointed populace, duped into voting against their own best interests. Then, out of an abundance of caution, a dose of slightly adjusted voting machines is added in key markets, in case some venture a voter’s peek behind Murdoch curtained pockets. Abusing “The Keys to the Kingdom,” control is won, secured from a frightened people yearning to be, now in debtor’s prison just as top one percent envisioned you and me, and America is Koched, not free.
VOTE with your common sense, refusing to let powerful wealth take America away from the many, so the few can peddle it on the international stage for their profit margin. Once they have us back in their pocket, it will be like before,“Left Behind” as the welcome mat on which they wipe their feet, after locking us behind the dungeon door.
VOTE to protect America from Americans who use Americans to abuse the American Dream of all Americans who cannot protect themselves. VOTE against those who love only personal riches and power, those who fail to use their wealth and talent to develop what’s best for all life on earth indeed, opting instead for world dominion ignoring society’s need, forgetting what goes round comes round, with electric car speed.

Hmm, accounting, IT jobs, need an education beyind High School, maybe the delivery and customer service can get away with a HS diploma. Mr. Hurt does not support higher education, Hurt wants to give student loans back to the fatcat banks. Furthermore, when the health care mandate is not funded, will these small business owners provide health insurance?? NOPE. My wife worked for a small business, not only did he pay the minimum wage, he didn't have to provide insurance, my wife also didn't get a paid vacation. His wife was the bookkeeper and his son was the IT expert. Generally small business owners are ruthless with their employees, they are greedy and will pay as little as possible, and demand an undeserved loyalty, if you don't like it... leave, he will find someone else. My wife doesn't work there anymore, but he is still in business, employs mostly the 18-25 year old kids who can't afford college or even a trade school, so they remain poor. Put a wal-mart or Lowes within 15 miles of a pharmacy, clothing store, or hardware store and those businesses dry up. Wal-Mart is hardly a small business. You say restaurants?? those owners are the most abusive, dealing with rude customers is expected by the 'help' then they have to deal with the abusive manager/owner.

Sad Day, hate to rain of your parade, but 53% of the jobs in the "Book of Jobs" put out by the Federal Department of Labor require a 8th grade or less education. 27% of the jobs in the U.S. require a High School diploma. That is where the REAL jobs are these days, i.e., the service industry. Hi-Tech and manufacturing job has gone overseas and will NEVER come back. The real problem is not the jobs, but the employees unwilling to work multiple jobs. Thanks to Clinton (NAFTA) and Obama (3 trillion in debt) we will soon be a 3rd world nation.

You believe something from the US department of Labor???? maybe you are thinking of the Book of Job. You cannot say overseas and NAFTA in the same context, geographically it doesn't work. NAFTA?? hmmm... I didn't know China, Viet Nam,Thailand, South Korea, and Japan were in North America. Call it what it is, jobs have gone to Mexico, but NAFTA has nothing to do with cheap imports from China. And how China manipulates its currency.

THIS IS WHAT PRICE FLOORS DO! Another example of how govt intervention screws up the free market....You could use a lesson in economics.

price floors?? You believe that, let's talk about price fixing by greedy manufacturers and retailers, the government has nothing to do with that. The only price floors the government is involved in is agriculture because of the UNCONSTITUTIONAL farm subsidies. Do you really think the government is involved in the cost of a dish drainer at Wal-mart? or a combination lock at Lowe's?
We can thank Nixon, Ford, Carter to a lesser extent and Reagan to a much greater extent for the flood of Asian steel dumped on the US market, the government should have put HUGE tarrifs on the Asian steel, to protect US jobs. But no, that restricts free trade. I am no economics expert, but common sense tells you that we have been converted to a society of have & have nots, and the gap widens with every year. Soon the middle class will be gone and the rich will get richer, and the poor will get poorer. Where I will land who knows?

Yeah, instead Hurt will be on John Boehner's short leash, he will owe the GOP allegiance because of all the money and favors he was given in this election, so Tommy or Bobby both will march to their parties beat. Where are the moderates? Can't anyone think/vote independent of their party?? And what makes Boehner think he will be elected speaker?? What if there is enough tea partiers elected to the house, will Boehner still be the speaker?

I still think that Hurt being supported by the US Chamber and the small business alliance are telling of his allegiances.

Current members of Congress cannot be trusted. We've got to make positive changes to the way in which our business is conducted at the national level.

While I agree with part of what you say here, the second part of your analysis is what causes most of the problems we have. It's BECAUSE we conduct business at a national level that we have such a large bureaucracy and so many problems. This country was founded with the idea that government is structured completely different from how most people see it today. It should be The PEOPLE at the top, then the State, and finally, THEN the Federal Government.
