The Fern Lake Fire started in October 9 2012, not November. See http://inciweb.org/incident/3294/#content . Please correct the error.
Also, I suspect that the Superintendent's remarks were actually 'now is not a good time' in the sentence "And now is not a goof time to let a fire burn; hence, the suppression efforts." -- although I will leave it to your readers as to whether a 'goof time' may be a more apt description of any decision to let a fire in Colorado burn.

The 'goof' Juley Harvey wrote the article, so the fact that there are both typographical errors as well as errors in fact (fire start date) are not unexpected. Actually, many of us would be amazed if she wrote a full article that was both factually and grammatically correct!
I hope you're not holding your breath that the staff of the Gazette cares about the 'quality' of the publication. The error will stick around into perpetuity.......
