Those had NO valid reason the change vote. Parking issue not resolved, especially when EPIC say screw-you solve it yourself! This will be utimate backfire, it wont increase winter biz (are we supposed to stay open til 10 when show is over on a friday in january? I close at 5 like everyone else) Now people will really go to Vail/Breck in the summer after they find out what a cluster fizzle it will be here. We get 3 -3.2 million visitors a year, EPIC all of a sudden this we will get 5 million...nope. Losing 30 parking spots sucks, but they won't tell us how long we will lose ENITRE riverside parking lot while this eyesore is being built! That will be deathnail for some stores. Also, do really think that family of 4 in Kansas with a 500 spending budget is going to spend 400 to sit in a theater?? This is just a toy for the holier than thou richy rich in town.
I saw in meeting a lady had 437 signatures supporting, there are over 10,000 people in Estes Valley, so 4.37% support this, what an EPIC trustee FAIL.

"Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"
IMO: When an 800 pound BLIVIT gets on the slippery slope, just being started. All the checks and balances in the world won't stop it. At best they will raise the cost and time elements of the project. I haven't seen a significant building project not fall victim to them. Out of the shute, I'd expect the EPA and OSHA to start contributing to those escalations, beyond original estimates... Unexpected scalations in time and money raising the potential of some cost falling on taxpayers, and time delay impacts on downtown merchants. To the downtown merchants I suggest keeping an eye out not only for the Fire Marshal, but also the Jobberwockey of collateral consequences.
I come back to safety again. And, there are multiple aspects of it. However, I suggest just one example. Let the performance group 'stage' a mass exit getting off the even undeveloped property by a couple hundred folks. I'd guess it'd look like a 'Keystone (Cops) Fireman's Fire Drill'.....to which I'd like to have the concession rights.
For the record. I am in favor of a rationally thought out and presented performance theatre....but, not some oversized, pipedream, in a bad location, recklessly and forcefully going down a 'rabbit hole of confusion and uncertainy."
ta'ta'...I'm late, I'm late, for tea.

Funniest thing I've read all week. Threaten a recall, then offer the solution to the parking problem is to ask 30 workers not to park downtown and Presto ! problem solved !

After talking to a couple of Trustees about their votes on The Rocky, I smell rotten eggs. A proposal was made to EPIC about merging with The MPEC with various advantages, to include the parking issue, and their response was a flat NO! Other solutions were mentioned and received the same response. At that point I would have told EPIC either you are going to come to terms with us or we will deny your request, plain and simple. There are shennanigans going on under the table, right Mr Black?
