Estes Park trustees to address marijuana issue

If marijuana growers, sellers or users thought they would have an easy time establishing roots in Estes Park after the statewide passage of Amendment 64 legalizing the use of recreational marijuana, they may have a surprise in store. Full Story

that a fair number of people talking opposition, either they themselves or their spouses either do, or have in the past smoked up themselves, just because they may have stopped now,(at least publically), doesn't change that fact, I've been in this town a LONG time and know who you are, I've smoked with some of you so let's not get to self righteous over the pot issue guys.
Enforce the laws as written and voted on by the people you represent

drink alcohol Tim, or smoke cigarettes? there was a time under prohibition would have made alcohol illegal, but they had to change the laws to roll with the times, welcome to the 21st century.
The state has much bigger issues leading to "the downfall of the state, if you think smoking weed is the only problem, you really do need to get with the times.

Perhaps the trustees should read these articles and get a clue! Marijuana May Slow Alzheimer's”(WebMD),“Pot compound seen as tool against cancer”(SFGate)“Lab Notes: Pot Has Benefits for Diabetic Hearts”(MedPageToday),“Mar ijuana Compound May Help Stop Diabetic Retinopathy”(ScienceDaily), CANNABlS for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease treatment”(NewsMedicalNet) Many more like these, and the medical studies they are based on, can be found in “Granny Storm Crow’s List”- free online.

lack of maturity coming from both the Trustees and the Police Chief it is apparent that there is no hope for this town. The trustees are so old and out of touch with reality that you just have to throw your hands up at this point. It's no longer the will of the people in control in this town. Just these old timers with their view of what Estes should be. The pander to the other geezers in order to get voted into their positions. Lets just take a look at how they handled this "controversial" issue.

Trustee Elrod- Making light of a real issue by calling for "joint meetings" and saying things will go "up in smoke".

Grow up Trustee Elrod. Your like in your 60's right? Get a clue. There are actual ways to find good solutions and compromises to this issue without making stupid jokes about it. You know he isn't even considering the other options when he jokes about them. Just wants vote no so he can get back to pumping up our failed "public transportation" projects. Seriously, that parking lot isn't even full during the rodeo. The biggest event at that venue all year. Yet they act like the visitor shuttles are the saving grace of this community. Thank goodness we had the insight to put in this great parking facility. In the WRONG location.

Trustee Blackhurst- "Estes Park citizens are probably overwhelmingly against Amendment 64"

Really? Did any of you get a letter or poll from Trustee Blackhurst asking your thoughts or opinions on this issue? Nope, he just pulls some sh*t out of his azz and tries to feed it to us as fact. I'm sure all the old timers down at the senior center are against it. They still think that MJ is brought here by the evil Mexican to turn our children in to criminals. Get some real data on the issue Trustee Blackhurst. Or put it to a vote. Why don't you push for the year long moratorium in order to allow the citizens to vote? Then we will see what happens and the WILL OF THE PEOPLE will be law. Trustee Blackhurst then goes on to talk about how we are a "national destination, based on attraction for families. That's how we market ourselves."
That may be how we market ourselves but don't kid yourselves. If it wasn't for RMNP our town would not exist. You don't seem too concerned about shutting down liquor establishments. How about all the drunks that come stumbling out of the wheel bar, lonigans and kellis every night? You don't seem too worried about them. This law is to allow law abiding adults to use a plant in the privacy of their own home. Would you really rather the tax dollars go to the stores in Lyons or would you rather keep the money in our community benefitting all of us in the process? It's not like anyone is asking for there to be a store on Elkhorn or even a smoking lounge. We just want a local place in town that we can get some buds from. Much like Rambos Liquor, Mountain Dew etc...

Trustee Koenig- visitors can "get their Rocky Mountain High without marijuana."

This statement is too fukking stupid to even dignify a response, but I'll give you one anyway. Trustee Koenig, do you realize that as you speak your words of ignorance, thousands of people are planning vacations to CO just because of Amendment 64? Let me be clear, they will be getting their Rocky Mountain High with MJ. It just wont be benefitting our town. The tax money will be going to stores in Lyons, Denver, Boulder or any of the other Front Range cities with the smarts to jump at this opportunity to make money.

Chief Kufield is about as ridiculous as Sherriff Smith. Your side lost, get over it. The PEOPLE have spoken. If our town leaders want to stick their heads in the sand and pretend that MJ wont be here just because there isn't a store in town that's fine. But we the people, who have chosen the direction of this state should vote them all out. Write letters in support of progress! And most of all, don't have the ignorance to loose out on all of that tax revenue. We could use it.

Realize that an overwhelming number of licensed medical doctors are all in agreement that Marijuana offers proven medical benefits for a number of conditions, not to mention it's use as a renewable source product in the production of paper, fabric, rope, and many other products that are not used to "get high", ever heard of hemp?
So your usual stupid snarky comments about those who support smoking pot should get on board for "eating feces", eating fecal matter has no medical or health benefit whatsoever, so since once again you prove just how full of feces you are every time you open your mouth, you will have to come up with another way to deal with your mental constipation yourself.
For just once, why don't you contribute something USEFUL to a conversation, instead of just cruising all posts to make your inane, juvenile, insulting comments.
To clarify for you

Hemp, a marijuana plant that grows without a THC content making it useless to get high with, yet extremely renewable, yet still deemed "illegal" under most existing laws even though it is not THC positive.
O.K., you can make your uneducated, snarky, off topic insult now, we would expect no less from you.

I propose a constitutional amendment to smoke feces, bake feces in brownies, eat feces, wipe feces on your shirt, anything to make it legal. This country would not have won any war without feces. It has no proven harmful benefit, only helpful, wonderful, life-giving benefits, and makes you work twice as hard to get rid of the taste. Think of the boost in mouthwash sales. Move to Lyons if you don't like eating feces.

You folks should cut this poster a break, I think it's kind of sadly cute that a person with such mental disabilities comes here to post no matter how misdirected his comments may be.
It's obvious he has no social contact or viable social skills of any sort, and is unable to relate to other logical human beings. and a lot of his personal life and personal experiences are made clear by the things he says here.
Remember, even the mentally handicapped have rights too.

Are you that stupid?

"Consuming other people's feces carries the risk of contracting diseases and bacteria spread through fecal matter, such as E. coli, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis E, pneumonia, polio, and influenza. Coprophagia also carries a risk of contracting intestinal parasites."

If you eat your own feces, you are just repopulating your own flora. It's like recycling, only better.

I seriously think that since I've done neither marijuana or feces eating, I can personally suggest both to everyone, just as you are telling me that mj has no harm, when I can tell it makes supporters fat and slothful, as well as compelled to tell others how to live their lives. I don't care if you smoke doobie until your hair tangles, just don't tell me what to do, Shiite eaters.

Well I know for sure that we should all be serving poop on the menu in every restaurant up here. What is the harm? This is the way of the future. It is organic, it comes from our nature, so of course they can be no detriment to using it in great excess and marginalizing those who refuse to by threats of death.

I agree that Estes Park should stay focused on a family destination. CO is already hurt because of this issue. We go there for the beauty and the clean air - not a smell that makes us grab our kids and head to another area. I do believe this is a State's rights authority and the feds should stick to their Constitutional job of national defense. Maybe taxing it 10,000% is the answer for now.

Just like it's illegal to drink alcohol out in the open, and many places now even ban cigarette smoking in most public places, it would be illegal to smoke marijuana anywhere other than the privacy of your home.
Yes, it is a states right issue, and just like alcohol and cigarettes that carry a nearly 40% sin tax on them, marijuana will also be taxed at a very high rate, but also just like alcohol and cigarettes, the high taxes are not a deterrent to using them.

I love eating poop and I want it to be legal. I think because I am 100% accepting of my crazy habit, and because dogs do it all the time without harm, everyone should be forced to hear my opinion and start eating poop too. We just have a bunch of fuddy duddies in this town, the non-poop eaters, and they don't realize the wave of the future is prominent and proud poop eating. Just remember, we once tried to restrict people from shoving their peepee in the poop hole, and now everyone loves that.

Your desire to eat poop isn't a nationwide issue, it didn't make it on the ballot with overwhelming support for it, and it didn't get voted on, approved, and enacted into law, which is being recognized by Colorado State Government, and isn't just another insane rant.
But feel free to much away if you want to, I just finished my bran muffin and coffee and have a big dookie pie to contribute to you for your desired appetite, then you'll be even more full of it than you are now.
