Amendment 64: are we ready?

There are 1 comment on the Estes Park Trail-Gazette story from Sep 12, 2013, titled Amendment 64: are we ready?. In it, Estes Park Trail-Gazette reports that:

Shortly after we ring in the New Year, residents, visitors, tourists - anyone 21 years of age with a valid driver's license - will be able to walk into any one of hundreds of businesses across the state and purchase up to an ounce of a drug over the counter that is still illegal under the federal Controlled Substances Act.

Well, it is already de facto legal to buy it outside of a dispensary and bring it into town, to possess, and legal to grow plants. The only thing that changes in January is the ability to buy at a commercial store. So, this is really much ado about nothing -- not much is going to change in January, so there isn't really anything to be 'ready' for.
