Estes Park group seeks Lot 4 change

Where can we sign the petition?

Sure wish there was somewhere else in Estes Park that had a pretty view, or somewhere within driving distance that had a bit of open land, other than Lot 4. I'm thinking that if Lot 4 is designated as "Open Space", we can expand our festivals and have more craft fairs, fall festivals, Octoberfests and things there! Maybe a summer long volleyball and frisbee golf tournament on that lot! People can hold birthday parties there, movies on the lawn... Will be able to have alcoholic beverages? Parking might be a problem, but I'm sure the people who live on Lot 1 wouldn't mind people parking throughout the neighborhoods. Where do I sign the petition?
Just a thought.

but conservation easements mean nobody can actually use it as a public park. Also, you probably can't put in any sidewalks or trails. Only the elk will be allowed to use Lot 4.

FABULOUS effort! Hoping it will gain HUGE momentum!!!

of conservation easements - they are not all the same. Most DO NOT restrict all uses. Some just indicate "no buildings, whatsoever". Some are written so that a building, or another building, CAN be built in the future. Some say "no logging", others are written so that responsible forestry is permitted. Some say the eased property must remain residential and not become a rental business.
It's not like declaring wilderness.......
