change the subject to something important and likely to go unreported in the Trailer Trash Gazonk:
ESTES PARK, Colo.-- A 24-year-old man from Springfield fell to his death while hiking at the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The National Park Service says park rangers were notified around 8 a.m. Thursday about the man's 150-foot drop from The Narrows on the Keyhole Route on Longs Peak.
"Initial reports from bystanders indicated the man suffered multiple traumatic injuries," writes Kyle Patterson, Public Information Officer/Management Specialist.
However, when an off-duty park volunteer arrived, he and a group of others were unable to revive the man using CPR. He quickly succumbed to the injuries.
Patterson says park rangers attempted to use a helicopter to recover the man, but high winds made it impossible.
"Recovery efforts will take place tomorrow, weather permitting," adds Patterson. "The man's body will be transferred to the Boulder County Coroner's office."
The man is not being identified because his family has yet to be notified. We'll post updates here as we get them.
