I would suggest that the town and trustee's take a deep breath and take their time in analyzing this project. If the money that John Cullen talks about is only available through Dec. 31st., so be it. Here we are on Oct.22 and John Cullen is already trying to pressure the town to make a decision by Dec. 31st. I'm sure that a man of his stature would be able to work out something after the 31st. And exactly when did he learn of the cut-off date for funding? Certainly not overnight. I urge the town to do the right thing and consider all the pro's and cons of such a massive project.

I agree with the above. We are still catching up over the flood and it would be good to enjoy a quiet Christmas in Estes.
Sounds like the proposal is a glorified spa, catering to 40-60 rich hypochondriacs. And the endorsement of EPMC with contributing time by their doctors does not instill confidence.
Stanley owner said that they wanted to do something for the community, pour millions into local economy. Only to see a major investor balk when roads were washed out. So much for good intentions.
What about the visual corridors to the Stanley that other had to protect? Current Stanley owners should act the stewards rather than the gainers of the property.
The town board wrangled over MPEC deal more than a decade. Why is something twice the size and involves the sale of lot 4, at only fair market value by the way, fastracked?
I have an indifference to the development plan, neither good or bad, but, we grow weary of the now or never attitude of recent developers. It's their gain not ours.
Prove your design by steady, open, patient convincing.
The board would be prudent to slow this down to an April vote.
