It seems never ending, new kids and old generation. Why do it the first place? Cool, tough, stupid, ignorant, girl, drug and jail time. Why are kids still doing the same old thing? Ship them all to an island.

Hi James,

I hope you understand that these kids have no self-esteem. they were raised without self respect, no value, no responsibility. parents need to raise their kids with expectations. For example, a 17 year old should be a high school senior, start working part time and preparing to graduate. Then, take to the next level. If a 17 year old fails to achieve to the above mentioned, you know why i said its the parent. i am a parent, i know what i am talking about.

Who cares? Let them all kill each other.

Social darwinism in the works.

The stupid ones die off.

Joining a gang and then being surprised that you got killed is like joining the infantry and expecting not to fight.

You reap what you sow.

I say we give the scum what they truly deserve: forget about them. Once they're gone, it'll be like they never even existed and the rest of the productive citizenry can go about their business.

What they really are is afraid; of themselves, of life, of their parents perhaps, of failure, of insecurity, of amounting to nothing (overwhelmed by the irony of that one).

I don't think they realize that nobody really cares about pariahs.

Anyone coward can shoot a gun.

That's a bunch of liberal whining!

I don't care how old you are - after a certain age, say 8 or 9, you pretty much know right from wrong.

People are responsible for the consequences of their own actions. Period.

Kids take the cool or thug or easy way because it's well, easier than being a productive member of society and a responsible adult.

You are right to a certain degree, but blaming it ALL on the parents takes away from the individual responsibility of the child - not every one is a victim.

I mean if you are who u say you are then cool... But if you are lying then u are a clown!!! The Spanish vs. Asian thing 1st sparked up in say '93 cuzz b4 then Asians and Spanish got along!!! I remember cats sayin LA KINGS LATIN/ASIAN KINGS back in 1990/1991!!! It killed me tho cause most of the old Spanish heads like yourself were pickin on the juniors of the infamous Sworn Brotherz Gang u had 21-27 year old men fighting against 12-19 year olds!!! It wasnt a good look!!! The Spanish Cats neva wanted to truly test the OG KHMAI cats cause they knew what the outcome would be!!!!! Its funny to cause after 1999/2000 it seemed like all the Spanish gangs poofed vanished straight disappeared!!! TMT gone BS gone NETA gone LK gone OTB gone PRG gone!!!

Back in the 90s gangs were a huge issue here! The violence amongst them was crazy and I think that these teeny boppers nowadays are trying to live up to something they are not! Thats not to say they should even be trying---its a worthless useless lifestyle. Back then they had "heart", or "balls", and now unfortunatly these little newbees are commiting even DUMBER crimes than their "for-fathers" just to prove they are "down"!
Any how, being from Lowell and from the Acre we had our taste of a few different "sets". Which ones do you guys remember and they're crimes?
There was Joshua who was beaten to a pulp near Athurs rest.---awful beating, the boy died! And Jason Carmona-a gangmember-though he was a nice kid--shot in the back by another group of kids and left to die.....
The Asian girls( dont remember the names)--one or 2 were shot while at a house during a driveby...this one sticks out though I dont remember the details...anyone??
i do they either dead in jail loked up coked up or they snitches in moved to florida pr or got deported !!!

I use to live in Lowell. Most of my family still lives there and dracut. Lowell back in the day was crazy. TRG was all over the place. I was actually cool with a few of them until some bullshit happened. I knew a young guy back in 96/97 who I went to school with who was killed for being in TRG. In the SUN it said he was trying to get out but they killed him anyway. To bad he was a good kid back then. Gangs are pointless. I mean dont get me wrong I cant speak from experience because I was not from the asian american lifestyle. From what I saw and heard though, some people had no other choice. Its just awful when you hear about someone who is young in Lowell or anywhere else getting killed over colors, race or gangs affiliation.

I hope Lowell changes someday.

Just my thoughts.

Every time this thread comes back to life, it reminds me how sad it is that people would actually feel nostalgia over gangs. It sure isn't something for anyone to feel proud about.
