Why does the story refer to the friends as "bikers". Seems like an effort to paint the other people in the situation in a bad light to distract the reader that Chartrand was intoxicated. Maybe not "highly intoxicated", but drinking nonetheless.

He is lucky that he didn't get shot! All he had to do was make a cell phone call to hs police department and let them know that he was there and had the shotgun in his possession. Sounds like Chartrand is a loose cannon!

Good thing he wasn"t a ordinary citizen. he would have been arrested then lost any chance to own a firearm. Like allways two sets of standards ,one for the cops+ one for joe public.

"Jerry Flynn, executive director of the union that represents Dracut police officers, the New England Police Benevolent Association, accused Chartrand of being too drunk to hear the police commands."

Sound familar, Jerry Flynn again, what a waste of union money, the members should be so proud of that drunk, Flynn. Good comment, "too drunk to hear", you should know, you've got experience. Put Flynn on the Kazanjian ticket on the next union vote.

An off-duty police officer does his job to avoid a possible serious altercation and there's Flynn.

Chartrand is Richardson's MIni-Me and can do no wrong as long as the Chief is in power. Either way this will be squashed with all the other crap he pulls in the department. More than half the DPD can't stand this guy and its as divided as it can be. I'd hate to have to put my life on the line with so called brothers backing me.

Just thought I'd share a funny story about the DPD. One night me and my bf were bringing the garbage out for the trash next day and there was a skunk so he started shooting it with his bb gun and then we went in the house and about an hour later the cops were banging on my door. They said my neighbor called about gun shots and I said to the cop well that was like an hour ago and he said they were BACKED UP...omg backed up?? You get a call for gun shots in a neighborhood and you take an hour to get there...REAL NICE JOB YOU GUYS ARE DOING!! iF IT WAS A REAL GUN WITH A REAL SHOOTER HE COULD HAVE TAKEN OUT HALF OF DRACUT BEFORE THE COPS DECIDED TO GET OFF THERE ASSES AND DO SOMETHING. But the best part is feeling NOT safe because you know they could take that long if it was a real emergancy...gald to know the dracut cops work so well!

Good story......I had over $8,000 dollars of stuff stolen from my home. A neighbor of the " suspect" told us he saw him with the stolen items, we told the police and guess what? Nothing happened. What a surprise. Also, a friend of ours is a police detective in nh, he called the DPD to see if he could get some info regarding another case and they hung up on him!!!! What a joke,

This deputy obviosusly suffers from a diseased of which the number one symptom is denial. He is crying out for help. Richardson is an enabler.

I bet if the off duty cop did get shot, the police dept would find no wrong doings by any of the officers involved.

The whole town of Dracut is in trouble with these so called cops. There all a joke. They just handed out badges to random people on the street and picked the smarter one to be chief... they've shown us that they are real good at acting like they do something but most of the time you just see them parked somewhere...GOOD JOB protecting the towns parking lots!!

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Libra

If you're invited to a party or gathering today and you don't know whether to go, you should. You'll have a terrific time and you might meet someone who always makes your knees go weak. Even if it's a perfectly harmless flirtation and you're both happily committed to other people, it will still do your ego good to have a tantalizing conversation with this person.
