We found this out last Monday I believe. The Condo Association officers have been working diligently with the City since this whole issue was 'unearthed', no pun intended.:-) They have done an excellent job!
Do you have any updates for us?

How about the dump site on Methen street. I haven't been by there in some time but I think houses or condos have been built there as well.

Not only is the property value zip, There is a high rate of cancer/disease coming from residents here.
City of Lowell tried to play stupid, Denied they dumped, then tried to say they knew a dump was in the area but were doubtful this property was the location. Then they tried to blame Dracut that sold the property to Lowell.
Lowell dumped here, rezoned the property & sold it. And now trying everything not to take responsibility. Despicable
Maybe next time you will do your own DUE DILIGENCE when making a life altering purchase...You should have had the soil tested, home inspected, radon testing if needed, pest inspection, and all the other inspections that come with purchasing a piece of property you MORON. Instead, you and the others expect a free handout at taxpayers expense to bail your ass your, much like we did to the Wall St crooks.
I hope you learned your lesson and next time take it upon yourself to do your own property research rather than ASS-ume everything is peachy! Yup, let's blame others for your stupidity and say it was all their fault that they didn't disclose something that happened 3 decades ago and 5 owners ago.
And for those folks, still living there with children, god bless those children because it is apparant that those parents could give two f**ks about their kids...if the soil is as bad as ya'll make it out to be, then you ought to be locked up for keeping children on the property...in fact, i think i will make a call to the dept of social services and report your ass*s for CHINS.

Your entire post is a pollution of Topix.
When a parcel of land has never been used to build a home all the due diligence in the world won't unearth the problem.
This is Lowell's fault. They're the ones who had the records and "buried them".
They've admitted that.

"When a parcel of land has never been used to build a home all the due diligence in the world won't unearth the problem." 100% uneducated response...of course you can dig up land records a**wipe. Land Records ARE public records. How do you think the Lowell Scum, i mean Sun would have dug up records. Is THINKING too outside the "box" for you?

Didn't Dracut actually own this land? How far back you want to go Mr Know It All? You seem to want to pull just Lowell into the fray, how about Dracut? Naaahhhhh...your too one-sided and a know it all. It's 100% Lowell's fault..not Dracut, not the dope that purchased the land from the city, not the dopes that didn't do any due diligence when building the friggin condo's which i assume they had to dig into the ground to get the foundation in, and CERTAINLY not the dopes, like yourself, that want to save a $100 when purchasing your condo rather than do some soil/gas/pest inspections.

You can sit in your own Sh*t now, how's that!

Point out ONE, just ONE, thing that i said that is NOT correct? What land records are not public? That a potential homeowner cannot get any test they so desire prior to purchasing? That's what I thought. Sit in your hell hole and punch yourself in the face for not doing what you should have in the first place.

I am tired of you whinebags. I screwed up, now who can I blame mentality of half you dopes in the city that expect handouts at every street corner. Must be convenient for you to walk across the street to Market Basket clutching that State of MA Welfare Debit card in your hand huh? Am i subsidizing your heat too?

Another example of how the basic human rights, freedoms, liberties of the American people are being robbed, mainly due to overspending of what some naive folks consider "defense" of our country (wars, missiles/US. historic mistakes of building "power"/imperialism) It's come to a crash.....cancer clusters all over the U.S. Google " onotmypriorities.com " and see the American budgetary pie....despicable, with environmental health given a tiny sliver of budget. Meanwhile, enviornmental hazards like this equates to cancer, chronic lung disease (especialy kids whom are5x more vulnerable). No wonder our health costs soar....meanwhile the U.S. ranks dead last in its healthcare system out of any industrialzed nation, slightly above third world Cuba. We are not a progressive nation anymore....time for some big change....like cutting "defense" at least in half (see all those bombs dropping out there? there are no Islamic "terrorost" trying to take over the world. It's America trying to take over the world like superman, imposing its "freedom and democracy" that it does not completly have itself onto third world nations, while trying to gain economic (oil profits/profits from building uncessessary weapons) Does anyone out there love their country enough to see what is happening, and try to change it?

Look at what they've already found around the Raytheon plants. There are other's as well. The funny thing is that they are the biggest employers in the area. Wait till the state of MA becomes a superfund site. Get out now if your smart.

What did the developer die of? My guess cancer? Seems people are dropping like flies to this disease around Tewksbury/Lowell area from cancer.....too many within my own family. I think we need to start waking up and realizing that less than 10% of all cancer is hereditary....90% is from environmental toxics, especially when it happens to kids. So sad...where is the environmental justice in the U.S.? Other nations have banned so many of the toxic chemicals used here, and adopted the Kyoto prootocol. Starting to see how we are really not the "free nation" our ideals have brainwashed us to believe after all. Hmmmmm.....take a look at our budget priorties at http://www.notmypriorities.org/ See the tinly sliver allocated for environment? there lies one reason the U.S. has among highest rates of cancer, asthma and other disease. Are we making our people safer with all that "defense" spending and violent wars? No, quite the opposite.

You are right Mike J, which is scary. I look at the sheer numbers of people I know of from my home town (Tewksbury) dropping like flies from cancer....or surrounding areas like Lowell, Pelham NH. It is obviously environmental when we hear of kids with brain tumors, luekemia and othewise. OUr environmental justice is lacking.....we need to put more into that budget than building all those unecessary missiles at Raytheon. Those missiles don't make our country safer, and its rather naive for anyone to hold onto that belief. We had trillions upon tillions of missiles unaccounted for prior to 9/11.....except of course the ones we shipped off to hositle nations like Israel so we can make lots of money of them, whom turned around to attack Palestinean soil. Hmmm....thinking, reason for 9/11 to happen? Those perpetrators "defending" their nation? Albeit in a cookie cutter fashion because....well you see they don't have trillions upon tillions like the US. to pour into its massive weapons of destruction? Meanwhile, back at the ranch, more innocnet American people dying from marketing spin we are "fighting for our security and freedom" or they are bathing in a nice toxic bath of arsenic, chronmium, lead and tetrlchloroethene. What a nice chemical concoction.....Yummy. Now go turn on your tap water fols and think about what might be in your drinking water. bottled water? No better as its not even tested...runs down "naturally" from those mountains traveling through all those wonderful chemicals banned in other nations. What perhaps is even more sad? The inttligent, wonderful American people I love so dearly reading my post and thinking I am negaitve, or somehow have gone off the deep end. No, there is no toxic peronality disorder here. I've just read alot, traveled as much as possible outside my wonderful bleeding country, and absorbed it all through loving albeit keen eyesight. through the eyes of our innocent children. this next generation of kids will not be fighting America's useless wars. They are braver, smarter, being brought up to say no to that oppression. It's not about fighting for our country or imposing our beliefs of "democracy and freedom" onto third world countries....It's al correlated if we look at big picture here. Protecting corporate greed rather than common citizens.....again look at notmypriorites.org and think. We are all smarter than this.
