Not enough time. Darezzo should have been put away for life with no parole.

He fainted who cares, the crime itself
is horrific but the fact he never took responsibility just shows what a lowlife he is.I wish he was sentenced to a much longer term, but at least he will be incarcerated at cedar junction-the toughest prison in the state.I hope when you try to sleep at night you think of the women you killed and the family you devastated and ruined........sleep tight.....

Not enough time, definitely not enough. And what's with the fainting? If you can't do the the time then don't drive drunk. The victim's son will have the horrific memory of his mother on the hood of Darezzo's car for the rest of his life. He and his family are the ones who truly deserve our sympathy.

Wouldn.t that be nice, if action against drunk driving could take place before someone gets killed? He will be out in 5 years, what about her, is she getting out of death and come back alive? As far as I concern, I believe that the penalties for this crime should be heavier.

i believe if you take a life, you give yours up. this man is far from getting time. he will be out in about 2 years. for some people that is not enough time to get over someones death. and the way that women died the family will never get over it. but i am sure that guy will be out and back to drinking.lets hope the judge takes his license for the rest of his life, that way at least he can not kill again. lets face it how many of us can faint to make ourselves look good. i think a lot of people can. and for the family member haven a breathing problem, it should have been the comtois family, that women had a hard time breathing but never was able to do any thing to bring her breath back, and for what, a drunk driver who could not see because he was so drunk. who said he did not do it, and tried to blame it on some one else. the law to wake these drunk drivers up and give the mmore time than they do. shame on that man. i hope you have a nice cell mate.lol cause someone is going to have to hold you up.

I agree it sucks to be the family, but none of you were there and no one really knows what happend, not even the son he only heard im not trying to attack her family but where have any of them been the past three years when his trial has been moved back so many times. Also how come the police that were at the crime scene didn't talk to all the witnesses, kinda odd the trial starts going his way and some one comes forward. So just think what if it was someone in your family that was drinking and driving and accidently killed someone.

this is not fair all he gets is 3-5 years in three to five years is that going to bring my aunt back...NO! And ya he wants to sit there and say im sorry. I wish i could change things. well you know what you can start by admiting that it was you that night and stop lieing about this fantom car that never exsited! You are a grown man and you know right from wrong you killd my aunt the moment you turned you key to start your car. Normal people most of the time learn from there mistakes but drunks are not normal people. Hes going to be out with in 5 years back at the same bar he left from that night drinking and then make the same fatle mistake he made that night but this time its the states fault for letting him go. He should be spening the rest of his life behind bars just like my uncle got to spend the rest of his with out the love of his life because he wanted to drink and drive!

He got away with murder. So what that he gets 3-5. The Comtois family got a life sentence without their mother, wife, friend...etc...I even find it very disrepectful to put the Darezzo family on the front page. Yes, they are upset but they will have him back... The Sun should've thought twice about that picture. I dont care that he is fainting. He makes me sick and he should've been given more time in jail.

To all the people hating on him, he is in prison he's doing time let it go. You put it like he was a drunk but none of you knew him he made a mistake that night and he has to live with it for the rest of his life. She's gone and there's nothing anyone can do about it, I am sorry for the family and I can only think of how you feel and no matter what anyone says she's still gone and he's doing time. So why don't some of you just chill out he has family too and they to have to deal with the fact that he killed someone. So let it rest its done and over with.

Its Strange that killing another individual while your impaired only nets you 3 to 5 years in jail? Tax evasion gets you a longer sentence, burglary can get you life, punching a police officer can even get you more time, so how do all these no life threatening crimes get your more time in prison then actually taking the life of another individual while under impairment? The reason is the judge in this case connects to much with these individuals and lightens up the sentences for them with no regard to the fact that he actually took the life of another individual who may of had atleast 30 more years to live. So that's how the sentences should be based on, he should have gotten atleast 30 since he had effectively taken 30. Where is the Justice. This is not justice, and the judge failed to provide justice to the families and more importantly failed to send a strict message to the community that drinking while driving is very serious.

dracutmf is fricken absurd! Thats always the thing most said by people who like the driver. "oh the victim is gone , nothing no one can do about it now" Well guess what! there may not be anything someone can do to bring this woman back, but its about setting a standard and sending a message to all those people that drink then get into there vehicle, that they will be held responsible for any accidents resulting in the death of another individual. Dont you get it? Try to understand that you cant bring this woman back, but you can PREVENT at best from someone you love or know from getting killed this way in the future. When people know that that punishment is really severe, then they will think a million times before doing it! For example if people only get sentenced for three years for cold blooded murder crimes, then you would see people killing people all the time out of spite or hatred. Instead, the punishment is what prevents most of these people from crossing that line, and the few that do get life in prison. Do you understand what 3-5 years really means now? its not about the victim or defendent, its about the message it sends!

Jesus...stop with the you didnt know him crap. We do know he killed someone because he was drinking and driving. And it will never be over with because that family will never get her back. They will have to face every day knowing she wont be there because some selfish jackass took her life. Thats the bottom line.

Strange I agree with you it is about setting a standard I have been a victim of a drunk driver my point is, that he could have gotten off sky free at least he's doing time. But even with him in prison it doesn't help the family at all they will always hate him and want him dead. All im saying is repect his family he's doing time.

I am truely sorry for that family. Theres nothing any of us can say that will change the fact that she's gone and he's in prison. All im saying is let it be. Some things r hurtful to his family and it shouldn't be taken out on them.

I bet many of you folks who are calling for this man to be put away for life drove at least once drove with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. So what makes you different from him - simple twist of fate? It could have been you.
Let him without sin cast the first stone.
Truely a tragedy for all involved.

If someone in my family were drinking and driving and were drunk enough to plow into someone I would expect to visit them in prison for the next 10 years.

Be sure to mention that to the victims son next time you see him. Let him know that it's time to let it go and the drunks family is hurting too.
This guy tried to blame it on someone else. If he was truly sorry he would have pled out and not put her family through this.
