Your welcome. Yes, they do and should apply to all. The main goal here is patient service. We need to focus on that and provide the best care possible. There are a lot of positive people that work here and as we all know it only takes one negative person to spoil a bunch. So weed out the negativity or improve it and hire positive employees...

The Board at Saints wants to merge with LGH - not with Convenant. Gulley wanted to go with Covenant. Bernie Lynch wants to see them both merge and then close the Saints campus so that it can be used for other purposes. Better to have 1 tax free large property than 2 in the city.

I'm curious as to where you get your intel.... and as to why, if this were true, saints has expended so much on the Covenant merger if no one wanted it?
And to answer a previous question... any posts from Saints are logged as "Brookfield CT"...

Hmmm, let's not forget Mr. Guley's true legacy at Saints - the infamous DISNEY trips! They cost thousands of dollars and most of the people chosen to go on the coveted trips don't even work there anymore! What a JOKE!

It is a shame that most people have forgot how poorly Saints was run before Mike Guley arrived. The Hospital was poorly managed and the board sat on the butts and did nothing to improve the appearance and the overall financial stability of the institution. Mike Guley as a CEO had to turn a tired old ship and he do so at the cost of some but saved a facility from closing its doors. Saints is working hard to survive and the person who could make it work has departed. This is very sad day.

Are you kidding me?????? Thom Clark and his administration are the ones who turned Saints around. The Hunter Group had nearly closed the place and they were losing money left and right. Thom came in and turned the place around to the point where for a few years they were doing better than Lowell General. The only lull that happened is when Thom got sick and things idled. Get your facts straight and lips off off Guley's behind. All Guley did was manage to put lipstick on a pig. When the truth comes out you'll see it's still just a pig!

** Mike maybe missed by you and a few others but to the long term employees at saints I don't see it. I am not employeed at Saints, but know many many that are - and Mike was not an asset but someone that brought employee morale to it's lowest point in 30 years!

It's too bad it took Sr. Prescille so long to see Mike Guley for what he really is....because of him so many good employees lost their jobs!

Mike, Didn't come in and rescue Saints. He brought the organization down. The best thing for the city of Lowell would have been a merger with LGH. Look at all the serves and MD's he lost from being arrogant. He came in an belittled long-term employees, telling them they had "been there too long". This was his constant message at his so called "Town Meetings". And the other message, was always trashing LGH. Grow up Mike! They are your competitor, so use your energy and staff to bring Saints up to a level of LGH. I work at both Saints and LGH, and can tell you LGH never trashes Saints. They take the higher road. Funny how a Catholic hospital would do that. He brought employee morale to an all time low, everyone was on edge and looking over their shoulders. He had his "select" VP's/directors/managers who would stoke his ego and when he wasn't around stabbed him in the back. In fact, the VP's/directors/managers stab eachother in the back. He cut lots benefits, work hours for hourly employees and expected directors/managers to pick up the extra work. Made the bottom line look good but his employees suffered. He said he had to do it to prevent layoffs. But....He was hardly around --always on vacation. To be fair so were his VP's -- Cat's away the mice do play! And the catered lunches and parties, don't get me started ..... the money he spent on parties with always an open bar ..... could have save Saints lots of cash, and employees could have not have reductions. And only "select" employees were invited -- but the non-invited employees always heard about them. And wondered, why? Covenant and it's stockholders are one stupid company to continue w. the merger with Saints.

Guley was a mean spirited arrogant ass. The BOT of was warned of this 2 years ago after he drove off the largest surgical and internal medical practices in town. Then he drove of the OB service and gave away radiology to MGH. Saints was doing well until Thom Clark got sick. The Board was slow to respond to Thom's ilness and then even slower to respond to Guley's arrogant incompetance despite many warnings and multiple meetings with the medical staff. I think that Campbell and the the rest of the board must pay some price for this as they were warned.
I am sure that the moral at Saints has improved now that they know the Gulinater is gone

Not sure if you knew...Mike Guley was:
1. The first CEO to try to pay employees for performance and not just showing up.
2. Spent time and money trying to help the employees below the state poverty line.
3. Successfully kept a failing hospital a float.
Not saying the guy was perfect...but what could you do??????????

Please take off the rose colored glasses. The guy did nothing except push out long term employees, lose Doctor's and services, cut employee hours and benefits, had employee's walking around in constant fear of being the next person pushed out or ratted out by their co-worker snicthes that were constantly running up to his office, and had just about ruined the potential take over/merger with covenant before he left/was pushed out....all the while spending tons of money to change the color scheme??? Spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to change the name by dropping the "Memorial"???? Flower beds and outdoor sprinkler systems???? New signs????? All the guy did was put lipstick on a pig...at the end of the day it's still a pig....the guy was a used car salesman who threw a fresh coat of paint on a lemon he was trying to sell...

Guley was forced to resign because he was embezzling money from Saints and finally got busted. The next loser to be fired should be the Director of Human Resources. She's such a joke!!!!

Just curious what happened to him. He took over our hospital in many years ago and had a hobby of toying with people before they were fired. I remember making a presentation at managers meeting. Before my presentation, Guley announced that I had destroyed the hospital. Fortunately a few months later I found another job. Sorry you folks had to experience Guley
