I think all teachers should have to have psychological testing. There are a lot of "nutty" teachers out there.

So, I think what she did was inexcusable, but I can totally understand a teacher losing her mind. Kids can be spoiled, poorly behaved, hyper brats these days. Sometimes, the only people worse than the kids are the parents who think their offspring are perfect, high-achieving angels. Then there's the administrators who don't want to battle the parents, so they don't discipline the kids. It's a nasty cycle. Anyway, what she did was wrong, but I can kinda empathize with why she snapped.

Really? The article does not say that she "snapped" because of the kids but because she was not assigned to 5th grade. Personally I would not want her teaching anybody's children. To place a fake bomb in a classroom is totally inexcusable and her other actions were just childish. This woman defintely needs some help.

She's looking forward to "the truth coming out at the trial." I can't wait to hear the "truth."

I was telling somebody I was gonna start a federal lawsuit and some local freak (who I wasn't talking to) said I would never make it to court and I would be found in the river with mud boots on! Repeated it twice! Of course you know I contacted authorities!

Todays teahers have it as bad as cops when it comes to the stress of the job. This old girl "lost it in the lights."

Why don't they centralize all these great teachers in one jail
and organize some cells into class rooms? I think it would be just great, tight security, no guns, drugs, no stealing lunch money, a great example of what my happen if one doesn't behave and better grades at the end of the school year. Or else...

What ever happened to INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. This woman has not yet been convicted of anything.... Could it be possible that maybe the District attorney in this county was a bit extreme when she decided to exercise her constitutional right to an attorney ? Same constitution that gives all of you the freedom of speech, right to bear arms, and right to privacy in your own home. Let that constutional of this great country play itself out before you start treating this woman like a criminal and slansering her.

You all should actually read the facts of the trial - there is no physical evidence and it is completely circumstantial. I sat through 2 days of testimony and the only thing that is evident is that this elementary school is holding their own Salem Witch Trial in 2008 - A Wisteria Lane version.

Believe me when I tell you that she was a well liked teacher and member of the community. No body wanted it to be her. The evidence that you've seen may be circumstantial but what these children and this community lived is all too real.

All I can say is that each individual in the world might as well live in a bubble. From selective mutes to messages that say "fuck you" to a mere poland springs water bottle with some baking soda and some screws (hardly a fake bomb, or anything at all). People are SO sensitive about EVERYTHING and when people react so strongly to cries for attention the children that are committing the acts will continue to do so. The teachers at this school were living day in and out in a community filled with suspicion and fear...and I believe they created much of the drama themselves. Show me where the motive is for this CANCER PATIENT to commit such acts and perhaps I will consider this witch hunt a little more serious than a complete joke.
This elementary school is like every other school in America - children are aware and mature beyond their age due to technology, which makes it perfectly within reason to believe a fifth grader could have participated in such acts. If this wasn't Bucks/Montgomery County the District Attorney's office would have better ways to occupy their time and spend the money of taxpayers.

She was actually my 6th grade math teacher about 5 years back. She never really seemed like there was anything wrong with her mentally. Believe it or not, she was one of them teachers, apparently only for the middle school that I was at, but she was so chill with us all. I do recall her saying that she hated teaching any grades below 5th. She claimed that the kids drove her nuts because they're so young and so naive. I guess she finally snapped. It's quite sad really, especially when I know her... I feel bad for her young daughter also =/
