Insurance companies are antiqutaed businesses that are nothing more than scamming people. I f all the money we pay as Americans for health insurance was put into one bigg pool we would have top healthcare for all. Insujrance company lobbyists make sure that this will never happen becuase the politicians are bought and sold. Politicians are just political prostitutes.

Facts are is that public schools are no longer cutting edge education or world leaders in educating students. Public Education has failed because of many reasons. Tenured teachers, fat salaries for the teachers and especially for administrative employees and the nice benefits and retirement packeages. What citizens have learned is that the more moneu you through at the schools through levies the higher the salaries and the better the benefits for educators and administrators while the child is left behind. The government itself is also to blame. They over tax everyone to the point you can;t even support yourself and your family without a real struggle let alone support schools. They say it is the families fault that children are hard to educate. Well you got both parents working and there still is not enough money. Basically, they are enslaved not employed. Stop the greed of the government, the greed of the education system and the greed of investors and the USA will be a great country once again. The only people that the USA is great for now is the greedy pigs.

Mr. Conover, the "government" does not ship oil overseas. The oil is owned by the company that extracts it from the ground, via the leases from the government, for which the government is paid. Oil is a global commodity, which is traded on a worldwide basis. Having more of it in the marketplace lowers the global price per barrel, generally speaking. Which is why the OPEC nations like to restrict production, to increase their revenues. From that point on, you can add costs for refineries (none have been built in our country for decades, thanks to the enviro-wackos), which are at capacity. That situation adds to the cost of gasoline. If Japan or whoever is willing to pay more for the oil, then that's where it will be sold. If you're advocating that the U.S. government take over all oil production services within the country, then at least learn some basic economics concepts about supply and demand before offering up a grade school analysis of the problem.

Though I believe that politicians are owned by special interest groups, I, for one, am satisfied paying for my own health insurance and uncovered health care.

Call me selfish, but I haven't worked hard my whole life to pay into a "big pool" for those that have never worked a day to get the same level of attention and care that I believe I've earned and deserve.

I believe that if one wants a better quality of life, he or she should work for it...and that includes a better quality of health care. Nothing is free...but Universal Health Care makes it so.

A.P.George, a resurfacing member of the Kommunity Kook Klub, has got it all wrong once again. That's no surprise when your contention's are not based on fact and misleading. Meat contributes methane gas, not carbon dioxide. The misinformed are ignorants like A.P.George. Here are some facts to refute his fallacies:

"Nevertheless, the fact remains that sources of non-CO2 greenhouse gases are responsible for virtually all the global warming we’re seeing, and all the global warming we are going to see for the next fifty years. If we wish to curb global warming over the coming half century, we must look at strategies to address non-CO2 emissions. The strategy with the most impact is vegetarianism.

Methane and Vegetarianism---
By far the most important non-CO2 greenhouse gas is methane, and the number one source of methane worldwide is animal agriculture.

Methane is responsible for nearly as much global warming as all other non-CO2 greenhouse gases put together. Methane is 21 times more powerful a greenhouse gas than CO2. While atmospheric concentrations of CO2 have risen by about 31% since pre-industrial times, methane concentrations have more than doubled. Whereas human sources of CO2 amount to just 3% of natural emissions, human sources produce one and a half times as much methane as all natural sources. In fact, the effect of our methane emissions may be compounded as methane-induced warming in turn stimulates microbial decay of organic matter in wetlands—the primary natural source of methane
With methane emissions causing nearly half of the planet’s human-induced warming, methane reduction must be a priority. Methane is produced by a number of sources, including coal mining and landfills—but the number one source worldwide is animal agriculture. Animal agriculture produces more than 100 million tons of methane a year."

I said IF all the money that had been paid toward health insurance would have been invested in one big pool. I neither said I was for or against such a pool for universal coverage. Just making a point about how much those who invest in insurance companies will get their fair share first and then you will get what care they, the insurance company is willing to give. Not a good system at all.

And I was just stating that, whether you supported UHC or not, I am against it. I don't believe that there should be "top healthcare for all." It's just my opinion.
