I live in Coatesville and I think it would be good for the city to expand. If not Downingtown then at least Thorndale.

Be glad if Downingtown takes over. Coatesville has the highest school taxes in Chester County and it isn't because our schools are top notch with the best facilities. The old school board squandered our money on superintendent buy outs, sexual harrasement suits etc.

I live in Thorndale but it belongs to Coatesville school district. The taxes are about $4 thousand per year and we got a break this year. We did hear so many unpleasant stories about the school district. And yes. They are building a lot of retirement homes in Thorndale. If your zip code is 19335, than it will be Coatesville school district. If you have kids you should check it out first.

If you are in zip 19335, then you are LIKELY to be in the Downingtown School District, not Coatesville. But some 19335 zips are in Coatesville schools. It is based on Township, not zip code. East Brandywine twp is D-town schools, but neighboring Caln twp is in C-ville. ALL of Thorndale is in Caln, and thus, in C-ville schools.

Born in Coatesville & raised in Downingtown until I graduated. I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. Coatesville USED to be hood, but now it’s changing. I purchased a beautiful home in Coatesville in a great Development. I have had no problems. All my neighbors are wonderful and it’s a diverse community (that’s what children need because that is the way the world is). Downingtown on the other hand has a lot to learn from Coatesville. There is little to no diversity. Drug use is extremely high mainly amongst the well-to-do kids. Downingtown has been and continues to be very prejudice / non-acceptance of anything that doesn’t resemble 90210 land. There are people there however that are very good as in Coatesville. I just can’t stand it when I see people lying about D’town being better than C’Ville. Those who have invested in property in C’Ville are a little more intelligent, because if I purchased the same home I brought in Coatesville in Downingtown I would being paying over $100K more just because of the name D’town.“I DON’T THINK SO” Downingtown has just as many problems as Coatesville, it’s just that Downingtown sweeps their crime under the rug in order to keep the prices of housing up. Now tell me who is being deceived and who is not.

Sounds to me like you're justifying the issue of you not being able to afford the D-town area, being a D-towner coming up and all, so you pumping up jacket-town and putting down D-town. I know this post got your panties in an uproar!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Cancer

It's a sensational Full Moon in your sign, combined with a lunar eclipse! Holy cow! However, once you accept that even the best-laid plans could go awry today, you'll find that life is a lot easier to cope with. Try your hardest to take everything in your stride, even if you do have to rethink an arrangement at the eleventh hour. At least it's never a dull moment! Do your best not to let the tensions of the day spoil what promises to be some spectacular New Year's Eve celebrations. It will be an opportunity to let off steam. Have fun!
