Oh PLEASE start in the Oak street projects...they could be there for days frisking....and rid the city of a lot of thugs and ileagal weapons, drugs, hoodlums, etc...

We moved into a beautiful renovated victorian home in Coatesville two years ago. I have been harrassed, followed, had them stop and stand in front of my car and not let me get by,had my car vandalized several times, had young black people congregate on my porch drinking and using drugs, had people try to break into my house when I was home alone with my children, you name it. We put the house up for sale last January at $50,000 less than we paid for it. We have had one offer, from a real estate agent for half what we paid for it! Yes, it is our fault for believing that they would welcome new people into the neighborhood that would pay our taxes and keep the property nice. Next time I will make sure it is an all white neighborhood!

I know what you mean. Stories like this are all too common anymore. It's only going to get worse with Obama!

The best thing for Coatesville City is for developers to buy all of the land, and build a planned community of houses, stores, and light industrial. Something like they are doing with the old Worthington plant at #29 & #202. Make it a continuation of Great Valley Corporate by getting a developer like O'Neill in there. Oh yeah, the thugs that presently occupy the space..if they are not doing something to positively contribute to our society...put them on a barge to nowhere. Let's take back our cities.

I agree but for every 1 who gets caught and actually locked-up there are 100 who are still on the streets. Nobody wants to live in Coatesville City anymore. Did you know that when they hire someone at Arcelor/Mittal they warn them about not going into Coatesville because of the violence? We need to not only take back our cities-we need to take back our families. Education, birth control, and tough love. Hold these kids accountable from the beginning. Ask most successful adults about their childhood. Virtually all of them will tell you their parents were strict and held them accountable for their actions. These baby mama's and absent fathers don't know anything about raising a child.

You can develop the land all around Coatesville but you can't take the "boons" out of the city. They rule the turf there. The Thorndale SEPTA station can be a scary place at night. I would be nice if SEPTA had some working security.

I am from Coatesville, I have been living in New York upstate for the last 10 years. I love my town (Coatesville) I remeber every summer the elks parade, marching units, the good things like that. I came home for a few days in August I was pulled over by cops 3 times in a two day stay cause of my NY tags this is crazy. I said that the next time i came I would walk around town to see my people. I see that I will be stoped no matter what. Is it worth coming home again? "MAD LOVE FOR COATESVILLE"
