I hope they walk out and never come back. The PR store is a disgrace and the people who work there take no pride, neither do the managers. It attracts the worst of the worst and the inside I'd the store always looks like its been looted. A PIG PEN ran by pigs.

Looks like walmart employees have finally discovered the ONE and only language walmart speaks - money. Walking out on Black Friday is about the only thing that would get walmart's attention. They have their attention now alright - you can tell that walmart is scared because they sent the lawyers to court over it. I think walmart pretty much thinks they own the legal system since that got the descrimination class action suit knocked down. They are filing a motion that claims it is the unions causing the demonstrations and walkouts and they are trying to find a friendly judge to sign an injunction to "save Christmas" for the company. I have never seen walmart react out of fear before - this is something brand new for them. It looks like some employees have found walmart's only weakness - their absolute obsession with money. I hope the employees show them the same level of mercy that the company shows them on a regular basis - it isn't personal - just business as walmart would say.

I agree with the comments above. People who shop at the PR Walmart do not take pride in the store. I also agree that it should become unionized so that employees receive some benefits. I shop at Norwalk Walmart the day I am out there and Managers and workers take pride here.

Anyone who leaves can (& should be) replaced. Too many folks are earning far less &/or looking for a job.
A lot of the strikers are actually "occupy wallstreet" lemmings who have nothing better to do anyhow. i would lov to get a job at Walmart & have applied numerous times. Their work practices, including the rising health-care costs, are being done everywhere. My husbands company just increased his to 3 times higher (Thank obamacare for THAT one)! His company also hires at minimum wage as do many in the same business (restaurants, fast food, etc). So $12.00/hour would be SEVERAL raises for these employee's. i really hope the Walmart employees realize how good they have it b4 they choose to throw it away. Jobs are tough to find, pay is low & health benefits are disappearing at an alarming rate.

The cruel truth is this. The Walmart employees that are going to walk out are "at will " employees which means that if they walk out they have effectively lost their jobs and when Walmart fires them, and they will be fired, they will have deserved it.

These disgruntled employees are the scourge of every retail chain. With little or no education and a resume that at best ends with a high school diploma they bring a skill set to any retailer that could be replicated by a well trained monkey. That is why they are so easily replaced and will be. These miscreants typically expect their employer to compensate them for a lifetime of dumb and irresponsible decisions. Case in point, the single mom that sings the blues that she cant pay her rent because she has to feed five kids. As if Walmart owes her a raise because of her lifestyle choices. She cant keep a man around after the sex to help support her and her kids so Walmart ownes her a raise? How about the stockboy, you know the guy that has mastered the skill of restocking the paper towel aisle, and expects to be paid $20.00 an hour will full health benefits for his troubles. Come on!!!

Imaging giving these bottom fedders of society, the dumb and dumber of every community the ability to keep their employer on the defense because they are armed with all the union ammunition that unions typically use to destroy every industry they mange to infiltrate. Think Hostess or the auto industry.

The bottom line is this-if you are not happy at Walmart take your pathetic resume with your ridiculous demands and your limited skill set (cashier, stockboy, floor mopper, shopping cart gatherer)
and test out the free market. I am sure Target will be thrilled to have you. Stop complaining and just quit-if you are so valuable a commdoity I am sure another retailer will be as equally impressed with your exeptional skill set and impressive educational credentials.

Nobody is forcing you to stay at Walmart. QUIT. If you believe you are irreplacable. QUIT. If you need more hours or more pay aquire a skill set that is worthy of your outragious demands.

Walmart will never tolerate the lazy incompetence that unions breed and protect. They will never agree to allow their employees to unionize.

Added note:
Strong-arming tactics only work if you have the upper hand (stronger arm). Too many people are suffering from the fact that it's an employers market right now. It sucks, it's not fair, it just is. Walmart is not the only company who's policies are changing & becoming crappier for the employee's, it's just one of the biggest targets.
Thank obamacare for the rising health insurance costs. Plus, the class warfare tactics he has promoted since being in office have hurt every aspect of trying to work for a living.
Unions are NOT the answer, they are bankrupting this country right alongside with obama's incessant need to overspend. His administration has already begun to target the monies coming in by raising taxes on the so-called rich for more reckless spending. That revenue was intended to help cover his trillions in over-spending from his first term, but it's now being redirected for more spending ... to hell with the debt we're already in!
People need to think for themselves & quit acting like mindless zombies. Our future is in our own hands unless we get too lazy to think for ourselves & hand our individual power to someone else. FYI: obama is NOT a messiah, nor can he walk on water ...
