We can't see what ain't there. |

And a "C" is a passing grade so why bother going for a "B" or an "A", right? When Metra works, it's great, but on the BNSF lately, it's not working. Instead of smart-ass remarks, maybe Scooby should earn his pay, and maybe you should reserve judgement to someone with whom you are more familiar..... |
I " earn " my pay everyday sweetcheeks, do you honestly think its the conductors fault why the train gets delayed?? I have no control on what goes on outside the train, when one of you blights on society decide to kill yourself, when a crossing gate is torn off, when the engine suffers a mechanical breakdown, when they are upgrading/ repairing the track, all things I have nothing to do with. Keep your comments to something else you purport to know about because obviously it isnt how trains run. And you call yourself a commuter?? sheesh |
No excuses Johnboy, I just dont care why they're late. |
Weirdo! |
I think that's pretty obvious. What revalation are you going to spout next, that the sun rises in the east? |

Oh sister, I am familiar with Metra and it is far more reliable than sitting on the IKE every day. As I am on Metra 4 out of 5 weekdays. Sorry about you. |
Maybe it's you and the time you drive the ike. Wheneve I've driven it it's been smooth sailing. Works both ways, don't it, cuz'. |

What time would that be? 3am? Works both ways with what sister? |
Normal time, daytime, days when I have to get home for appointments and can't rely on Metra because, invariably, that's the day the train will be later than usual. "works both ways" means that, like you, I can say a situation must be great for everyone because it's great for me. Sorry, I'll type slower next time because you appear to have a comprehension problem. Were your parents related? |

They sure were, to their own families. Yours? I would tend to believe the comprehension handicap I have would fall hand in hand with your inability to see traffic on the IKE during the normal rush hour periods and that Metra could possibly be more unreliable than traveling on the IKE on a daily basis. Guess that's what "works both ways" might mean based on your astute observation on my comprehension. |
Your observation is that Metra is more reliable than driving. Mine is that when I need to make sure I get somewhere on-time, I avoid it. Both based on personal experience. |

I'm so glad I can just walk to the train station from my home. Living within walking distance to the BNSF line is something we planned out before we purchased our home. Living within walking distance to commuter rail adds irreplaceable value. After a 5 minute walk I enjoy the 20 minute express to downtown, and it's never late. Have fun fighting for parking spots in Naperville, I'll be on the train!
Who cares you smug bastard!! |
It sure seems like an awful lot of money for a parking spot. Someone is making a ton of money. Who?
I went by there tonight. I can not believe people are going to pay that amount! |

Chicago already has a well built public transportation system. Expansion of rain in the subs just for the sake of expansion is not wise. Population density must either put all passengers within walking or biking distance, or be smack dab in the middle of a commercial mall. The later of the two seems to work in Denmark. Lower overhead in areas that are not densly populated is contrasted by low customer traffic. Put a station next to a concentration of business offices, and people will travel on the train to reach the doctors office if it is cheaper or easier to get an appointment.
