Uncle Bub's Celebrates Anniversary by Giving Back

Uncle Bub's in Westmont, IL. is celebrating their 12th Anniversary on Monday, November 9th. As a gesture of goodwill and in thanksgiving for those 12 years, several specials will be offered from 11- 8 including their famous pulled pork sandwiches for $1.12. Uncle Biub's goal was to offer an authentic alternative in the Western Suburbs. 12 years later, the family owned business is still delivering up authentic pit smoked BBQ, entering competitions, and was included as a filming location for the movie "Witless Protection." Have been going to Uncle Bubs since it opened but now since the owner is never there no one comes around to the tables anymore ( they would have gotten an earful!). The pulled pork has become grainy and dry and the ribs are terrible! Burnt up! No flavor like days gone by. If you want ribs, purchase a pack of Lloyds or Curley's at a local grocery store as they fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. Whatever Uncle Bub's ever won in a food contest has long been lost probqably to overexpansion and trusting local kids to carry out the cooking tasks. Uncle Bub needs to get in there abd sample what he is serving. My friends and I do talk and He should consider this note from 6 (families) of customers who won't return. It's sad to build up a great business and see it go down the tubes from, one could only guess (NEGLECT!)My grade today D- I won't return. Sincerly, Dick

Ah, Dick, that is a shame. Fortunately, your experience is not consistent with the family of 6 visits that we take monthly. As to the help, local or not, they are always polite, efficient, and friendly. The Manager's were competent and the food was an excellent value. And of course someone always visits the table.

The intent of the original article was about the Owner giving back, out of Thanksgiving to what he had been given. Such inspirational stories from those in our community, are worth sharing. So often the negativity that seems to thrive in message boards, written by people who have personal agendas, seem to take up the focus.

Went Wednesday night with the family. Pulled pork and beef brisket? MMMMMmmmmmm. Coleslaw and mac & cheese MMMMMmmmmm. Wife had a half slab- would be bigger than caps MMMMMMMMM. Friendly service, reasonable prices, no charge drink refills. Love it.
