You need to pay attention when the men are talking:
We're not talking after the lifestyle choice event, we're talking the 6 months or so before when the lifestyle choice renders the female cop unable to perform full cop duties and instead forces someone else to carry their weight on the job.
So you are saying that if you plan on becoming pregnant you should what quite your job??? What is your solution to the situation??????

If you're a female cop and you're pregnant and can't do your normal job because of it, you should go on short term disability. It's what VB used to do/might still. There should be no requirement to create a make work slot for you.

Hell ladies, it's 2010. You get pregnant when you want to. Deciding to have a family is nice and you can do it whenever you choose. The taxpayer does not have to subsidize it (certainly should not have to).

Another case of wanting to be treated equally.

With exceptions.

Why should we pay someone for short term disability. I would rather them work. At least they are working!!!! Come on!!!

Duz anyone on here feel, that there are certain jobs, that women just are not suited for? I understand, the need for equality and such, but common sense says, the sex's have differing physical limitations.......

No, not at all. I guarantee that the female officers in question can take down most of the guys posting here without breaking a sweat. If you want to place restrictions on employment because of physical limitations, then we should not offer smokers or fat people jobs because they are less physically suited. By the way, I have known plenty of men who have asked for light duty when they claim, and I emphasize claim, physical restrictions.

In the early 70's i was a police officer, in a large department, down here....we had the first uniformed, women officer and she was on my shift....i was senior and worked an area along the beach, where you had to be very careful, as you could get caught easily, without backup, because the beach area was seperated from the mainland, by a series of bridges.....i always liked this female, but she was like 5'5", 120 lbs., and occasionally they would put her as the other unit on the beach...she was smart and brave, but i had to be careful of how much i got involved with, with just her as my backup....maybe people that haven't been in a situation like that would'nt understand, but when you need the cavalry, you really need them...lol...

I hope they never work again because they do not deserve to represent the police department. It's alright to make your way around Michigan with others husbands, file false police reports, file lawsuits at the drop of a hat, humiliate, embarrass, and slander others. If they were actually doing more work while on duty than personal things maybe they could stay out of trouble and the tax payers wouldn't be throwing money away on lazy cops that bring down the reputation of others.
